@Zerbrecher: Wow, that was really sour and whiny... what's wrong with you?

XD

...I still hate it.

It doesn't fit together at all. It's literally bullshit. Stop using "magic" to explain Superman's weaknesses, stop pretending that the character models are good and stop pretending that this will be the game that brings back Mortal Kombat.

I really think this game would have been much better if they went the serious route they originally planned to, tightened up the combat, smoothed up the animations, and lessened the amount of characters.
But instead they decided to make half the game about something that has nothing to do with the series, shoehorning the DC Universe into the game (see, the Joker fights with a springy boxing glove- isn't that grand?) and somehow, people are still more excited for the DC side than the MK side.

What does that say about Mortal Kombat?

@EmeraldCockroach: I disagree. I could see how you could say that about The Conduit, but the art style on this game and even the style of the gameplay is completely unique. If you wouldn't look twice at this game if it was on the 360 or PS3 I doubt you'd look twice at much.
@RoboSheep: It's definitely No More Heroes influenced, but it's already really different, with No More Heroes having had none of Madworld's environmental "fatalities"
I guess this game is looking okay (the platforming, wall running, etc. is looking fine), but the woman is leaving a really bitter taste in my mouth.

The double jumping (with the lady teleporting to help you) is straight up BS.

Color me unexcited.
Why doesn't EA understand that Need for Speed was the most fun when it was about driving McLarens and Ferraris at 180 miles per hour?
No, they saw Burnout and Midnight Club and decided that the sideways-baseball-cap-street-racing scene was just right for the series...

It wasn't.
Maybe the classic style of Need for Speed wouldn't work today. Fine. But is the answer replacing money with "bank" and replacing driving skill with gimmicky, Mario-Kart-style Nitrous.
Thanks. Now you have a lesser Burnout with half the fun.
And now it's a B-movie.

@Elly: Genius... Just genius.

I don't understand Sega. It's just impossible.

Haven't they ever heard of making some f*ckkng new franchises?

God damn.

Hmm, I guess that shows us how fast Sega comes up with this crap.

A couple of days ago: WiiMotion Plus is announced.
Today: Sonic and the Black Knight! (Wasn't the bad guy in Fire Emblem called the Black Knight?)

(I know it's impossible for them to have written and printed this issue in a couple of days, shh, it's the only explanation that makes sense >_>)

@Torgen got his apology faceplate but not his fixed GH3 disc: Project HAMMER, from what I heard, wasn't good... But Nintendo's Wiimotion tech really could have changed everything :(

@everyone: I find it odd that, after decades of awesomeness, one of the best Mario games ever and one of the most progressive Zelda games ever, storywise, gamers seem to finally be jaded with those series... Yeah, right.

I mean, sure both series have had many minor missteps in the past and they seem to be on the verge of stagnation, but the games will still be good, and you will still eat it up, so come off of it.

You can't make your own music? No...
...Fail. The lack of skill needed is also a bit of a disappointment, because it doesn't seem as if it would be too hard to have a general scale as to where your left hand should be when playing a guitar, for instance (kind of like the needle in Rock Band's vocal sections).
But making your own music really would have sealed the deal.

This is the only time I'll encourage a rip off of a Nintendo game, really, because it's a really interesting concept that could be executed much, much better.

Hopefully a good company will step up?

I, like everyone else was super worried about this game.
After I found out that it was Power Stone, not Soul Calibur, that they were emulating I became much less worried.

It makes more sense, seeing as how Castlevania isn't only about their characters (the monsters are just as important, and their interference in fights sounds interesting) or "moves" (when half of the "fighters" use the same "style"). And Iga is confident, so I am too... I think.

I still want a good traditional fighting game on the Wii, though. Too bad it's not gonna happen any time soon :(.

As for this announcement, is basically an empty one, because, really, we all knew it was coming, and there's no gameplay/release date.

Who couldn't have called this one?

@CitizenInsane27: Disappointed by a company at E3?

Join the club.

@c0rnpwn: Well, obviously Nintendo doesn't care nearly as much about the Core gamer as they do with their Casuals, but I think all of the "former Nintendo fanboys" are deluding themselves in thinking that there won't be a reason to keep their Wiis announced in the next few days or so.

For one, we know Kid Icarus is coming around. The only way you could be completely jaded by Nintendo today is if you really didn't care about Kid Icarus... Or the new zelda/Mario/Pikmin they ensure us is coming (or maybe it's something new? Would the zelda team work on something that isn't zelda?). There's also, even though it should have already been on the remote, a ton of possibilities with the Wiimotion technology, including improved FPS games and actual swordfighting (too bad those Star Wars games are gonna be too late for it!). And I really am certain that someone will devise a headset for that speaker crap, so it can stop sucking once that appears.

I'm not too disappointed in this, actually.
You know why?
Because, there will be third party accessory makers who will be able to subvert the speaker and send the sound to a headset and microphone instead- it's all too likely.

Sure, that means you have to buy this, and then a headset, but it could be worse.

@nottsville: Hey, it's better than just burning to death like in GTA2 XD.

This may sound odd, and this isn't even what they probably was aiming for, but I've always wanted a game where you play as that Asian lady in GTA3. She was cool... well, until you kill her.
In any case, hopefully this game will use the best graphics engine possible on the DS, because I find it hard to believe this city will be anything but sparse.

I kind of think it should have been on the Wii... I mean, with the Wiimotionthingy it would be awesome to beat up whores and swing swords :|

Oh! You know what I just realized?
First, that the Nintendo Peripheral circle has got to be complete by now- just about all of the Wii games shown today used a peripheral in some capacity and by the time they got to the Wii Drummer he was looking like Peripheral-Man. And besides, they've got basically all the peripherals they need out there, right? I mean, how much further can they go? Not much, I'd bet (and admit, some of the peripherals were pretty cool... If a bit unnecessary sometimes. Whatever, I'm just glad I'll be able to play the Conduit with voice chat and, hopefully, a headset).

Another, more obvious thing is that they've repaved the roads of imitation.

Yes, with these few peripherals and ideas that Nintendo's come up with, Ubisoft will be able to finance their 360 and PS3 game development for years to come... Just imagine the upcoming knock-offs.

Okay, the presentation sucked. They only showed a few things I even care about- but it's not as bad of a situation as everyone's making it seem.
The most puzzling part is that they are working on high profile games- there are several we know about.

Even if you don't have footage of it, you still could have mentioned Kid Icarus, or the new Mario and zelda that your teams are working hard on. Just something to offset the shistiness.

That being said, I'm almost certain that they'll have some kind of surprise later on in the conference, but for the time being, they've still got a lot they could show if it wouldn't inconvenience them.

@HowardC: I've got to agree with you a bit there. It makes very little sense to keep adding offshoots of Ryu (or his better half, Ken :) ), as unique and awesome those characters are (Those characters being Dan, of course. Akuma's pretty cool, too, and he's Ryu's Rival, you he should be in- I never got the big deal with Sakura... She's a suckier Ryu!), when they could be adding in fully original, awesome characters, like Elena (Best character ever :O!), Ibuki (Come on, she's a ninja!), Hugo, Q, Twelve, Gill (Gill was brilliant, man), etc. etc. etc. Even the Alpha characters don't deserve obscurity.

In fact, after playing Street Fighter 3 I've got to say I prefer the SF3rd Strike fighters over the 2... Except for Cammy, she was awesome.

@Aex: They probably played mostly from their newest album, right? It's not as good as their older stuff, but it still needs some time to grow on me.
The chorus on Indestructible is probably the catchiest thing I've ever heard from them, though XD
@LULCATS: I can never tell what "real music" is, because everyone has differing opinions (even my own personal taste differs radically), but I assure you that they aren't the only bands I listen to. They're not even that high on my list.
Have you heard a decent amount of their songs, though? Neither of them have a "Stairway to Heaven" or anything, but there is some good in there- you just would have to have looked for it... Or maybe, you could accept that they're "not your taste"?
