The odd thing though? Some games on PS3 are only designed to be played at 720p max (eg: Uncharted) whereas there are only a select few with "1080p supported" on the back, such as Ridge Racer 7. Any game supporting 720p max is purely upscaled to 1080p if running on a Full HD set.

If GTA is only running at 630p, how come the back of the box claims it's 1080p compatible?

@DARTH_TIGRIS: It's worth remembering that the 360 and PS3 are hardly just games consoles now. They're designed as home entertainment hubs, and that's what these download services are about, along with the future TV content (PlayTV for the PS3, with the 360 getting BT Vision).

The likely thing to happen in the future is that more film companies will have their films featured on the download store, but obviously Sony films are being used at the start since PlayStation's access to them (as guinea pigs, if you will) is relatively easy.

The new PlayStation Store will no longer use the web-browser format favoured by the old one, which was essentially a glorified webpage. This new one will load images and cache them properly so the whole thing is faster and easier
