Colonization is not some nice thing people ask to be done to them so they learn a new language and religion. At best, it's a forced conversion. At worst, it's massive bloodshed and lost of a people's entire way of life.

If we could see a world if it had not been for colonization, that would be interesting. Since we cant, you can foolishly assume that colonization was the best way to go.

So racism has a part to play in colonization, but it's also the isolationist mindset that made these world powers go to claim other countries in the name of their leaders.

Why didn't they call the Edo period game Yakuza: Side Story or something?

Just because there isn't a big title about the atrocities done under ruthless dictators doesn't mean that it will never happen, or that it doesn't belong in the marketplace.

Again, why can we have Schindler's List, and not a game similar to it? Games don't have to be about action either. You could have a totally horrific fact-based game that doesn't allow you to kill a single person.

I wonder why it's cool to shoot Nazis in a game but it's not OK to be one. It's all fiction. It's a safe bet that the author of this game has seen a movie based on real life murder and mayhem. We're all hypocrites, and I think this guy needs to realize that he is included in that.
