Glad that where I live "data cap" is a foreign and bizarre concept. Even with a high limit like 250 gb a month, it's still scary to imagine being able to "run out" of internet :/
You should try tuning in to EVO at the end of the month. It's the biggest button mashing tournament outside of Japan. Livestream 29-31 July, it'll be hype as fuck. Tune in to the finals on the last day and take a look. [evo2k.com] http://shoryuken.com/
And there are way more fighting games played competitively outside of SF, and fighting games have been played competitively since SF2 in the early 90s. EVO will feature the most popular ones right now... SF4, Tekken 6, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Blazblue CS.
Why in particular the godawful 360 pad? I used to play on pad and still do when I don't have a stick around, and that one is the worst I've ever used. Cheap PS2/PC Logitechs are surprisingly awesome though, with the wobbly d-pad.
There are a few pad warriors in the top 8 sometimes, if I remember correctly. It's a fun thing when they get far. A Zangief in SF2 last year I think. Sticks aren't only "better", they are also a cool cultural thing and hella more fun to use and better looking. And you can pick out parts to try and pimp it out... Lots of fun if you're into tinkering with tech and design. It seems you are the one with the issues, frankly.
EVO is going to be awesome. Gonna be at a small Marvel/SF4 tourney at the time it airs, but we'll watch it there. Shit'll be cozy as fuck.
It's fun if you have competitive drive, but of course it'll be a bit boring if your pals leave you in the dust skillwise and goes all out against you when you just want to jump around and mash buttons. Read Playing to Win: [www.sirlin.net]
Uh, you just did call "me" out, that's why I even answered you in the first place. Remember, the whole main point of my post was that your argument to try things sucked ass?
Actually, I don't live in the US and have never seen drugs or known anyone who uses them. I mean, I'm sure they're around, but pot doesn't have the same cultural thing here. The subject of it is all over your media, like comedy series and more (it even has it's own day now, or something?), but not so here. I have never been "spoon fed" any lies, as far as I can remember. Maybe there was some lecture on the subject in primary school once, I dunno? I form my own opinions based on what I see. The whole American thing with drugs, the people versus the government, the "war on drugs", it feels pretty foreign to me. I do not feel like there's been any propaganda on this subject aimed at me. Well, except for that episode of Family Guy.
And I never mentioned anything about addictiveness. That's just drug user defensiveness.
Why don't you write a book about how drugs help you imagine things better and "transcend", and what magical things you've learned through it lol. I do not believe that there are chemical shortcuts to true insight.
Also I said 25 years without drugs AND alcohol. Alcohol is a drug, after all, and hardly the softest one.
The argument that you can't have opinions about things you havn't tried is so incredibly flawed and childish. A better way to investigate would be for him to stay sober and just hang out with all sorts of drug users and addicts for a while. Personally, even being near a drunk person disgusts me deeply. Mind-altering substances are for people who are not happy with themselves or their lives. They need it to "have fun", "lose inhibitions" or "relax". I don't have a problem with either of these things on my own. I like to have full control over my actions at all times possible.
I mean, have you tried going 25 years without alcohol, drugs, tobacco and coffee? Maybe you'd like it. Remember, you can't knock my view until you've tried it. Like, geez, there are so many hilarious examples one could make with the "try it first" mindset, I won't even try to start listing them.
Some translating: "The day after the wedding a person with bad conscience from Square Enix called. He told it like it was, Square was planning on backing out without paying. The brothers considered suing the publisher, but soon realized that a legal process would be too costly for them. Grin was out of money. It was over."
But as Kotaku points out, better take everything from Aftonbladet with a grain of salt because it's a hardcore sensationalist tabloid.
Also, I think Square is gonna go down. They seem seriously messed up for the last few years. But it would be nice if they released Versus first.
In theory, any console can play online with any other as long as the game is built for it and the companies allow it. It's not like PSP has a special internet or anything. It's all just about sending data of positions and actions over the ol' tubes.
What exactly was good about Conduit, that you couldn't get 10x better in any run of the mill FPS on another platform? Art design is terrible, engine seems great for being on Wii but ultimately not used to it's potential, graphics are a mess (like, Killzone 1 on PS2 looks way better)... Is the story and gameplay really so fantastic as to outbalance this? I dunno, it all just seems so amateurish. Like they had a single somewhat decent artist they put on doing monsters, and then let newbies do the rest. I'm really sorry, but to me it seems like the audience for this game is Wii owners who want to delude themselves into thinking their console can do the "next gen fps" thing :/ I guess maybe the controls are better than pad? But that's not exactly a difficult accomplishment.
I'm pretty sure the HSV people didn't actually buy and read the book. Their reviews are also very short and lacking substance. Basically just insults. At least Murdocks review backed up it's trashing of Conduit 2.
So what, you need to have a good reason for abortion? This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he wants to return a jacket, and he says the reason is "spite" and they won't accept the return because of that lol.
Also, "getting rid of children" - talk about a sensationalist way of putting it. It's hardly a child at that point, but of course if you say it like that people will conjure up images of a cute little kid getting adopted away or killed, and not of a disgusting blob. Well played, America.
