But I'll still buy it to increase the weight of the PS3 controller.

Oh well, good thing I reserved the regular version and not the CE.

"The idea behind the game callapsed once we had the whole RTS/FPS hybrid thing taken away. It was on its way to becoming a mediocre at best shooter, in an already saturated and brutal market."

So Tiberium was originally supposed to be a RTS - FPS hybrid?

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Insiders Spill The Beans On EA's Tiberium Clusterfuck]]> Wow, this just gets worse and worse as I continue to read it.
Maybe some EA executive with the power to change things will read this and realize how screwed up things are?

At the very least I just hope the same management hell doesn't ruin BioWare now that it's part of EA...

]]>
<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Insiders Spill The Beans On EA's Tiberium Clusterfuck]]> This game always looked mediocre, a rental at best. Of course the MoH games are also mediocre. In fact if RA3 is good it'll probably be the first halfway decent game EALA has made since LotR:BFME2.

There are just too many good games out there (including ~20 coming in the next two months) to shed a tear for Tiberium. The cancellation has provided us with more entertainment than the actual game ever would have.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Two New Tom Clancy's Endwar Trailers]]> Once the "losing side" has used a WMD, the "winning side" is "authorized" to use a retaliatory WMD?

What the hell is with these weird and arbitrary rules?

This game is almost out? That's not a good sign...

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on New Guitar Hero: World Tour Screens, You Decide]]> It's such an ugly art style.
Of course it's all about the songs in the end, but it just looks so cluttered and garish when compared to Rock Band.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on XBLA This Week: War World]]> It's interesting to see people get all excited for a game just based on a few screenshots.

This was supposed to come out a year ago and everyone who played it said it was terrible. A year later maybe that has changed, who knows, but I would definitely play the free trial version before spending $10 on it.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Age Of Booty Sets Sail In October]]> Just as I suspected, so Kotaku was wrong when they said Age of Booty was coming to XBLA this Tuesday.
Come on Kotaku, XBLA games do not come out on Tuesdays, everyone knows that.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Rock Band 1 To Be Manufactured "Indefinitely", Songs Won't Ever Be Offered As DLC]]> "You want one or two songs from the disc, you gotta buy the whole thing."

Wrong. You can rent the game for a few dollars or borrow it from someone, and then you get like 55 songs for $5. That's 9 cents per song.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on New Xbox Experience - Themes And Friends]]> The gray blob that is blocking half of the background theme needs to go.
At the very least it needs to be shifted down so it's not taking up half the screen.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Activision - Perhaps Record Companies Should Pay Us]]> As someone who prefers to get new music in the form of Rock Band DLC over being forced to buy the latest "Guitar Hero: band" style game, I fully support this Activision douchebag making a total ass of himself.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Looks Like The New Xbox Dash Is Coming In November]]> So they have well over a month to get rid of the useless and ugly gray bottom section that covers up half of each theme.

I hope they let each profile create more than just one avatar. I'd like a group of customized avatars to pick from, like with the characters in Rock Band 2.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Activision Pirate Shaken By Legal Scare Tactics]]> "he even muses on how people who hear of such harsh treatment might not buy Activision products anymore.

As someone who actually pays money for games, I really don't care how badly pirates are treated.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Ensemble "Shocked" By Closure, Bruce Shelley Won't be Joining New Studio]]> There are so many mediocre game studios out there that I'm still totally shocked that Microsoft would do this to Ensemble.
Even if MS are focusing on games for consoles instead of the PC now, Halo Wars is looking really good. And if the RTS on a console thing works out, why not put Age of Empires games on the Xbox?

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on GTA Blamed For French Car Fires]]> A quick Google search on France and car fires reveals...

2006:
Rowdy revelers in France torched 425 vehicles overnight in scattered New Year's Eve unrest that has become an annual problem in troubled neighborhoods, the national police chief said Sunday. Last year, 333 cars were burned.
In what has become an annual tradition every New Year's Eve, youths set several hundred cars ablaze in France as festivities get out of hand.

2008:
A total of 372 cars were set on fire in the French suburbs on Monday night and 259 people were arrested, but the police said the New Year's celebrations were calmer than last year's.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Rock Band 2 Review: Second Verse Same As The First]]> A few more complaints:
- No longer displaying the stars next to each song was a mistake.
- In some ways the leaderboards have gone one step backwards.

That's just the basic stuff, if they had wanted to *really* improve the game, what they should have done is implement a Geometry Wars 2 style in-game leaderboard that shows your score against those of your friends as you're playing a song in real time.
The battle of the bands mode is like a bad attempt at this, instead they should have copied the GW2 system exactly.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Ultimate Band Impressions: A Peripheral-free Rock Band?]]> So while Rock Band and Guitar Hero battle for music game supremacy, Ultimate Band will take on Rock Rebellion and Wii Music for the lame peripheral-less loser market?

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Next Week On Rock Band: Rush's "Moving Pictures" (And We Mean It This Time)]]> Good job to Harmonix on the rest of next week's bands, but why couldn't they pick some Bad Religion from 1983 to 1994, you know, back when they were actually GOOD?

Hell, pretty much anything from "All Ages" or "80-85" would have been fine, but Sorrow, like most recent Bad Religion, is just mediocre.

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Rock Band 2 Review: Second Verse Same As The First]]> As much as I'm enjoying Rock Band 2, I must admit the whole thing feels rushed: no Jukebox mode, no ability to switch off disc songs you don't want to randomly come up, etc.

You can really tell it was rushed because they didn't do the easy (and cheap) things that would have really improved the game. The Band Store and character customization staying basically the same are two examples. Two extremely disappointing examples.
Another example would be the band trivia before each song. This could have easily been expanded tenfold, instead it's mostly lame messages like "remember to use your overdrive." It's just a sentence or two of text, how hard could it be to provide a few more tidbits of information about each band?

Even though making the World Tour playable solo was a great idea, they should have kept the Solo World Tour for those who prefer to simply play through a list of songs.

Also, there may be more good songs in terms of quantity since there are 84 in total, but there are far more just plain lousy songs so it's much more uneven than the original Rock Band's setlist.

Maybe some of these issues can be improved with a patch, but I doubt it since in the past they have only patched the game when doing so will make them more money (the Music Store). I guess we'll just have to wait for Rock Band 3. Unless that is rushed as well.

]]>
<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on Rock Band 2 Review: Second Verse Same As The First]]> Second verse, same as the first?

That reminds me I want much more Ramones on Rock Band: Judy is a Punk, I Wanna Be Sedated, Psycho Therapy, Bonzo Goes to Bitburg, plus most of "Acid Eaters"...

<![CDATA[XbhaskarX commented on What is the Xbox Pure? [Update]]]> So any random forum post is worthy of a front page story on Kotaku... but that's okay as long as it's labeled a "Rumor"?

There's no denying it, Kotaku just got embarrassed.

You guys may have to actually do a little work (you know, little things like "journalism" and "research" and "fact checking") from now on instead of just taking stories from internet forums.
