You just don't get it, do you? Did you even read my first message, the one where I mentioned that I was an artist as well? Or did you gloss over that part while you were browsing through your thesaurus in an effort to make your message sound more intelligent?

The point is this: My comment was on-topic and well-concieved. I would have invited anyone to have an intelligent conversation about it. Instead, you decided to be conscending and tell me that I know nothing about art.

My answer: You're an idiot. Whether or not you're an artist has "dick," as you so eloquently put it, to do with anything. The point is that you don't go around shooting off at the mouth at someone, especially when you have no idea what his/her actual life experience could be (or is, in this case). You strike me as someone who thinks very highly of himself/herself (no offense meant, I honestly have no idea) and to that end you tried to make a fool out of someone else. Unfortunately for you, I have quite a bit of exposure to this exact sort of thing, mostly through my brother, yes, but through my own experiences as well.

And for the record, I'm not touchy about this subject, or most others, tbh. I'm mostly just touchy when people like you assume that you're the only one of the fucking planet that knows a thing about what you're talking about.

Try a little moderation next time, it helps a lot.

If you're already cracking your knuckles to reply, keep in mind that I already used moderation. I spoke to you in the private forum of your profile, rather than the public one of the Kotaku threads.

Finally, if you're interested, my site is www.mdimauro.com. I'm not a visual artist; I'm a freelance writer. My site hasn't been updated in some time because I haven't needed it to do work. I get plenty of work by writing honestly and respectfully.

"your comment is borne out of a misunderstanding of both artists and the people that enjoy that art." way to generalize, retard. Let me introduce you to my brother: www.tonydimauro.com. Now tell me again that I know nothing about artists, despite knowing one for most of my life. Oh, I've got my own page too, but I'm not going to waste my time giving it to you. I'd rather a real fan see it. Next time think a little bit before you decide to be conscending.

Well said about Bushnell. I unfortunately was one of those people that didn't separate "innovation" from "evolution" and somewhat agreed with him because in my game development studies in school we strive not to beat the same dead horse of clichés. There is nothing wrong with that. However, your comment opened my eye a little to realizing what is attainable and perhaps a humanly possible endeavor. I still don't feel whoring out the same game genre to evolution gives Halo 3 a pass though because of my perspective on the overall enjoyment one gets from it when you've played all FPS's since the late eighties... Halo 3 just feels like yet another fun dead horse beaten to death and dressed up in a beautiful HD dress while other genres feel a bit snubbed, under-hyped, and... under-evolved. Still great point though. :)
