The long the short: No, I wouldn't hang a painting by Hitler. I don't think he was a very good artist. However, supporting such people isn't the issue at hand; to repeat myself, I think the artist and his work should be judged on their own merits as separate entities, unless the work's only goal is to promote concepts like overt racism and bigotry. Relevantly speaking, just because Card might be a douche doesn't mean that the work he produces--which makes no overt appeals to his own personal beliefs--is automatically poor. Like I said, I have no issue with one choosing not to support such an artist, but I do think that one shouldn't rule out critical discourse on the artist's works just because of his personal beliefs.

It's mostly a difference between Modern and Post-Structuralist critical views. I happen to believe that the post-structuralists were correct. Your mileage may vary.
