@Rebochan: I know. That's why I still said Jrpgs as a whole especially from Square. Last Remnant, Star Ocean, That Spectral Forces game. They all sold like crap on the 360. The only Jrpgs I do know that sold good in Japan are Blue Dragon and Tales of Vesperia. Vesperia also sold more in Japan on PS3 then it did worldwide. Possibly because of those panties.
@Mothergooch: It's not the color that hurts me. It's how floaty the jumping became. SML was good. This speed would make the game below average. It's like an MSX game now.
@Killer Toilet: BOOM. HEADSHOT. I agree that Treyarch never gets the credit it deserves. Sure CoD3 was only average but World at War was pretty damn good.
@NeoTechni: So with theWii, he's been slipping into sanity?
@Rebochan: Except that Japan didn't buy any of the Jrpgs Microsoft bought from Square.
@jayntampa: Does this mean next time that they get another rpg that they're going to graphically bone it and compress the hell out of the fmvs knowing full well people will still buy it? If so then they are smart. They just proved that American gamers don't care about getting gimped games. Then again, I can't throw stones. Japan also proved that by buying Bayonetta on PS3 far above the 360 version.
@Rebochan: I actually wasn't talking about 13 with this one. I was talking about their previous Jrpgs that Japan didn't care about and neither did America.
@jayntampa: No it doesn't. Mainly because most of the Jrpgs they got didn't sell anywhere near what they were hoping or expecting in Japan. So it made it a huge money sink that didn't get them any reward or even much closer to achieving their goal. A Japan that cares about Microsoft.
@Gun Metal Gray: You're thinking about another console prone to death boy.
@shouryuuken: Second'd. Lets return to the POWA STONE GWAR!
@Marchosias35: Go back to the realm of obscurity that is animu nerds Blaz. Nobody cares about you.
Ugh crap. Another dull brown infested world of Unreal Engine 3 tech pushing its tired body into a marketplace with more vibrant and fun games. Can't Epic wait till Unreal Engine 4 for this? I WANT MY COLOR. Or better yet, I want an Unreal Tournament 4.
@Bouchart: I dunno, the five grand signing bonus is pretty sweet considering how he's now known as Mr. Bulge by Neogaf.
@skaven: Isn't the answer OBVIOUS? It's George Broussard of course. Keep in mind he STILL Has the Solid State hard drive which houses the Duke Nukem Forever game. I hope to jump him one day and steal it from him and leak it out on the internet. If I succeed, I AM LEGEND
I thought we were supposed to take everything Aaron Von Doucheberg said with a grain of salt?
@resvrgam: You also forget one thing. Midway made a ton of crap that NOBODY bought. So they were bleeding money. 3d realms on the other hand was only making ONE game and they were still getting profits from past games, Max Payne made them a huge mint, Prey still sold over a million and then they sold the rights to that too. 3d realms should technically still have a huge supply of cash not only from the max payne, prey and console ports, but from the past itself. It's quite suspicious that they're suddenly "broke" after being in the business of making games and publishing games for 23 years and for the most part they never really lost money. Unless they were spending it on Super Hookers and Smelly schoolgirl panties times ten from JAPON.
@resvrgam: Actually they had a LOT of money and there's a good chance they're STILL hiding money. Factor this in. Before 3d realms, they were Apogee and they essentially INVENTED shareware. TONS of companies were under their wing back in the day. They published a ton of games and made a lot of games. They were behind Wolfenstein, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem, Halloween Harry, Blake Stone. They did TONS and TONS of stuff, created AND published back in the day. Now figure the Duke Nukem 3d creation. They stated it cost about 500k to create. Then state that they made 29 times more than that. HUGE profit right there and in that point in time they literally had THE BEST FPS GAME EVER MADE. NOTHING could rival it. Not even Quake. Now figure Shadow Warrior which while didn't sell as well as Duke Nukem still sold a lot. Same with Blood. Now keep in mind they published Max Payne and made a ton of money. They invested like 1.5 million in Max Payne and made tens of millions. Then they sold Max Payne to Take 2 and made even MORE money from selling that. Now look at Prey. They sold a lot of Prey too. Now figure in all the Duke Nukem games and ports such as GBA, N64, Playstation, PC, Manhattan Project, Expansion packs, licesnsing the build engine. They were nowhere near doing "nothing" and were quite busy and made a hell of a lot of money. The question is how did they burn it all if they truly did just burn through it. I wouldn't be surprised if Broussard hid a good amount of it in the Cayman Islands. Even Take 2 put this in the lawsuit that 3d realms was hiding money.
@Witzbold: You just bumped up a troll post. FOR SHAME Witzbold. But seriously this is the internet. When did we need information and statistics on the INTERNET? NEVER that's when.
I'm actually kind of bothered like this. USB drives are nowhere near as fast as actual hard drives and the read and write cycles are rated far lower too. The constant saving and reading from it would definitely not last long. I've seen people kill a USB flash drive in 4-6 months booting linux off of it and using it as a main PC. Not too safe if it's going to be in constant use.
