Thanks for the offer. I play a little bit of everything. Much prefer action RPGs (Phantasy Star Universe) or active RPGs (Eternal Sonata). Love strategy as well. Turn based especially, though I know those are few and far between no matter where you go outside of FFT. Also like adventure/horror like Silent Hill or Siren. Don't mind a good old fashioned shooter too, but God knows the 360 has more than enough of those to last a lifetime.

Ya know what.....you say what needs to be said, and I respect that!
Thing is I've never really had that much of a problem with under powered handhelds from nintendo, in my eyes it makes some devs work harder to achieve great graphics, like Ninja Gaiden DS, or remember Alone in the Dark for the GBC, that game looked bloody 3-D!!

So now I'm curious about your strengths with PSP v DS.

I've got both systems, and I can see (quite easily) where PSP is strong. Especially in RPG and Strategy RPG games. But what software does the DS have that could be argued as a strength? It has The World Ends With You and Rune Factory (to a degree), but past that it's all old FF remakes. No real great original content.
So what say you? My poor DS is hungry for good games.

Haha, I like you. Very articulate compared to the average commenter on this site. Apologies if my tone seemed off or my argument presumptuous, but your initial two comments made it seem to me you disliked ZD and its properties just for doling out reviews and scores less flattering than other review bodies. You never explicitly said that, true, so it was probably just my interpretation; you demonstrated well enough there was substance to your statements.

However, I still find myself disagreeing. One issue of contention is that you feel there is an unfair amount of leeway given to big Western developed titles. It is true that generally Western (USA and Europe) developed titles are getting higher scores/better reviews, but I would argue that is simply because right now the West is producing superior media to Japan, the reverse of what it has been for the past decade and a half.

I find Japanese titles playing it by-numbers more often than Western ones these days, especially in regards to plot and character design, which tends to be slight variations of very old manga stereotypes and cliches. The same could be said of the ever-common 'gritty space marine' that plagues many FPSs, but they are a lot less prevalent than the spikey-haired, belt-buckle and zipper wearing teenager in Japanese titles.

I also feel that Western developers are more open to adopting more intuitive control schemes and gameplay modes (a good example being how archaic the Metal Gear Solid series plays and controls and how MGS4 has been, in the developers own words, "Westernised" for a superior play experience).

I cannot speak for "stoking the fires" on fanboyism, as I frequently hear the more prominent writers voice their disdain for the console wars and the closed-minded attitudes of various internet-dwelling fanboys. I haven't been following the ZD group for long, so perhaps you have a better perspective on the matter.

Anyway, this is starting to get long, so I'll let you reply if you wish. Again, no disrespect was intended, I just disagree with you but enjoy a good, intelligent debate all the same.
