Ironically enough Bird Brains would probably be a good template to try and copy, several birds in the corvid family are just as smart as chimps despite having brains the size of peanuts.

Unlike mammals where only the outer surface of the brain does the computing (which is why our brains have all those crazy folds in them, to maximize surface area) the Bird Brain uses the entire interior volume for computation, which makes them crazily more efficient.

They also have a much faster metabolism without ending up using too much energy as they balance it out by going into torpor (basically a mini-hibernation mode) whenever they doesn't need the extra power (like sleeping/resting/etc).

So they can basically overclock themselves for extra performance whenever they want.

Adding both of those traits would probably allow us to cram a lot of additional processing power into our heads without running out of available space.

If you watch the video they are talking about it doesn't show a single tree anywhere.
I fear this is just the beginning, in the hunger game post some of the comments seem to have random parts turned into garbage links... #observationdeck
And Battle Royale is just a ripoff of Lord of the Flies, sure they changed the reason for getting stuck on the island and gave them weapons right off the bat, but just because they added some stuff here, changed some stuff there doesn't mean it isn't the exact same story.

Unless you are in the middle of a dust storm the sky on mars is actually blue, not brown.
No you 're fine. What they're basically saying is that you can't set your story too far back in time or the difference between your alt history and real history won't really be noticeable since most people aren't expert historians.
I got goose bumps just from watching. Goose bumps I tell you! Looking good. Looking Good.
Especially since the original ending was actually pretty good.
Especially since the deleted scenes showed us that they actually filmed the correct ending from the book but apparently decided to do some reshoots and replace it with the BS ending we got.
I have to admit, I burst out laughing sooo many times during this episode. XD

Pretty sure FF10 should enable it by default regardless of the max version, so no hacking should be necessary.
Type in about:config in the url bar and then type browser.tabs.closebuttons into the filter bar at the top of the page. Right click it, select modify, then enter an integer value of 0.

0 Displays a close button on the active tab only
1 Display close buttons on all tabs (Default)
2 Don’t display any close buttons
3 Display a single close button at the end of the tab strip (Firefox 1.x behavior)

Middle clicks closes tabs in FF too.
Agreed, things could have been very different.

But for some reason I don't think that will ever become canon XD

Actually the real reason this is made is that if they stop making Spiderman films the rights will revert to Marvel after a set amount of time. And as they make a gazillion dollars from each movie they aren't about to let that happen anytime soon.

So no Spiderman cameos in the Avengers.

Spider man, spider man, does whatever a spider can.

Uhhh, that raises some disturbing possibilities...

While I agree with all your points it's worth mentioning that at least some types of spiders are able to extrude strands of webbing from their feet.

Afaik there was an article here on io9 a (long) while back that some researchers discovered that was how some (large) species of spider (Tarantulas? I forgot) managed to stick to surfaces while climbing despite their larger size.

Ahahaha! This joke never gets old.
Reminds me of this great image XD
