Onto a slightly more serious response, Why do I feel like the one person on the internet who hasn't been to NGAF? I've heard a mention every now and then, but not enough to make me visit it.
Either way- I think the problem isn't a single forum, rather forums in general (see PA's Internet Dickwad theory), and frankly I don't see a solution.

I mean if I was gonna call NPR as a gamer talking about game subjects, I'd want to at least remember not to say "uhhh....ummm" about 17 times in the few on-air minutes I get. I get that a lot of people don't like Whacko Jacko (myself included) but if anyone is gonna try to speak against him in any sort of public forum, I'd hope that they handle it with dignity and diction- making sure to go on the air, make specific points about where he's wrong, back it up with evidence, and generally trying not to sound like a douche.
My point is that the caller around the 13 min mark kind of represented a stereotypical "ummm...lazy" gamer who just nods his head and agrees with everything he reads online. In a situation like that, I'd prefer for a speaker who would win over the audience by being politer, wittier, and overall smarter than J.T (which is funny because Sessler did a great job of doing just that).

Even though I'm new as a commenter, I've been a reading for a few years now and couldn't help but notice that as more people join the site to comment, more people begin to ignore the article and the other comments just to say the first thing that comes to mind. Its a sad state of affairs on the internet as a whole, but it's even worse to watch one of your favorite websites become victim to.
Hopefully we as a community can figure out some sort of system to decide the worth of comments, or at least some way of sifting them.
I hope to be around when that day comes, but until then I'm gonna agree with a few others before me and encourage that the wrath of the Ban-Hammer be brought down a little early this week and last a little longer.

This made me wonder if eventually we're going to have very blatant in-game ads for other games. I can only imagine playing the next Need for speed with a giant "GTA 5" or "Generic Sports game 17 comming soon" posters along the racetrack. Either way when it comes to that, I'm glad that I won't see Kayne and Lynch ads in my unoriginal racer.

I mean yeah its nice to say "I wish I saw something else on the MMO front" but in such a business/capitalist based gaming world, if its not profitable people won't do it. Why spend billions to try to beat WoW when those before you have already failed? I guess we're gonna have to wait until WoW REALLY dies down before we see the next big fun MMO.

Arg...why did you have to remind me! I'd gone so long ignoring their existence, they always made me feel like George Lucas was too lazy to create a compelling character so he just picked up a teddy bear and put it on camera for laughs and ended up sticking with it.
