@mrmonkey72: I've tried being creative, but all of my ideas which should work in theory, don't.
For example, there's a level where you have to get past a bully (you can't kill him) to get some candy. I tied some rope to him, attached the other end to a Liger (Lion/Tiger cross) on the ledge above. I then tried to lure the Liger away with meat which I thought should hoist up the bully. It simply didn't work. It was a stand-off. I think the people over at Kotaku Bureau of Weights & Measures could use their physics calculate if this would happen in real life.
Again in the same level, I used a shrink-ray to shrink the bully, and then attached some balloons to him. He floated up, but as soon as the balloons exited the top of the screen, he dropped back down and beat the shit out of me.
It's stuff like that which pisses me off.
I'd also like the clarify on the piracy front. Scribblenauts doesn't come out here in the U.K for another month. I've had it pre-ordered since I read that famous post over at NeoGAF. I had the opportunity to play it early, and I figured 'why not?', that may still not be kosher in your books but to me they're still getting the money and I don't have to wait longer than I should to get my hands on the game. I was so close to cancelling my pre-order and deleting the game out of frustration, however I've had a little time to cool down, and reading comments on the internet really makes me want to play it again.
I pirated it and I'm glad I did. It controls like wank, and the thousands of objects in the library are wasted on me. I always end up using a Pterodactyl and some rope to solve every single puzzle.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. I never managed to finish it, and all this Twilight business reminded me of it. God that game was awesome. I shit my pants playing through that exorcism level.
Subtitles? On or off?
I consider my hearing above average, but sometimes speech can be mumbley, so I keep them on whenever I can.
The issue then is that I always end up reading instead of listening. Most of the time I read the text before it's delivered, so it can take away some of the immersion, especially if something important happens.
How about you?
@the7k: I think Robin (or anyone else) would have completely spoiled the game for me. I liked the feeling of isolation the game gave you. That's how Joker planned it, and that's how it went down.
The Oracle thing bugged me a bit, but Batman had to have some tie to the outside world.
To me, Batman is "fuck off, I can handle this by myself", and I have a little bit of that in me too.
