<![CDATA[Comments from Strangelove]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Strangelove]]> <![CDATA[Strangelove commented on How Long Til We Get XBLA Games On PC?]]> You can get Geometry Wars on Steam.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Treyarch On The Legacy Of EA's Sucky Bond Games]]> To be fair, the first 3rd person Bond game on PS2/Xbox (I think it was Tomorrow Never Dies) was pretty good (GTAIV stole its targeting system).

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Halo Wars Is In Control]]> @Providence:

You're completely wrong on all counts.

1) You're just talking out of your ass with this one. The controls are just as precise as every other RTS ever made, which is to say if you click on something, something happens.

2) The British play completely differently than any other faction. They can pick up and move any of their major bases to wherever they want and can build trenches which no other faction can. Depending on which doctrine you use, each faction can play completely differently even from itself.

3) Unit lethality? Have you seen what anti-tank guns do to tanks? Mobile artillery barrages? What a V1 rocket does to anything?

4) Diverse builds? It's set in WW2. You only have so much you can do with history. I know, they should have had hover tanks, just like Hitler's super secret Panzerfuzz division.

5) There's online rankings and you level up with each faction as you win. E-sports I couldn't give a shit about because I don't live in Korea.

Saying CoH, which won multiple game of the year awards and universal critical appeal (Metacritic score: 93 Universal Acclaim) is a bad RTS just because you're stuck on Starcraft is just ridiculous.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Halo Wars Is In Control]]> @Flawless101:

CoH is in my opinion the best RTS ever made, bar none. There have been other RTSs I've enjoyed over the years, most notably Age of Empires II, Empire Earth, Black & White 2, and even Sins of a Solar Empire, but I just keep coming back to CoH. The way the resources are spread around the map into victory points is just brilliant, and the way the units react/take cover/rear armor shit/etc. makes the experience that much better. Then, you call in a V-1 rocket and it's just fucking awesome. Whatta great game.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Halo Wars Is In Control]]> @tslothrop:

It'll have full keyboard/mouse support a year later when it's released for PC (hopefully not exclusively to Vista like Halo 2 before it).

<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on The E3 No Shows: Why They Weren't There]]> @Strangelove:

DNF, not DKF. Man, nut soo gud wif typig 2day.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on The E3 No Shows: Why They Weren't There]]> Oh, and I wasn't at all suprised there was no Duke Nukem Forever. I actually would've been shocked had it actually shown something. If it were somehow playable, my head very well might explode. I think DKF is either the last sign of the apocalypse or an elaborate practical joke.

<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on GFW Live Goes Free, DirectX 11 Unveiled]]> @Strangelove:

good-bye

Wow.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on GFW Live Goes Free, DirectX 11 Unveiled]]> What excites me most about DX11 is the GPU being used for different functions. Hello physics, good by PhysX.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on The E3 No Shows: Why They Weren't There]]> I was suprised no Alan Wake, disappointed no Brutal Legend or next ICO, and very disappointed no Bungie.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Video Of Konami's Rock Revolution Press Conference Cringe-off]]> @Jestersage:

Last time I checked, stating an opinion wasn't whining. And my opinion is completely valid -- a person's line of sight to the the horizon allows you to see more notes coming in less space with your eye. You have to adapt? Is this social Darwinism or videogames? Because, if all you have to do is adapt, well there's a lot of games that get put down for horrible controls or interfaces that are actually awesome now. Thanks for pointing that out. Daikatana wasn't horrible, you just have to adapt to the shittiness. Spider-Man 3's camera wasn't horrible, it's just too refined for your dull palatte. And Lair? Lair has the best controls of any game ever made! You just have to adapt!

Also, how exactly do you know what kind of gamer I am? I know what kind of gamer you are ... a presumptuous douche.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Video Of Konami's Rock Revolution Press Conference Cringe-off]]> Oh, man, that's awful. The completely vertical scroll bar makes it so you can't see notes coming as easily, and the presentation looks like Rock Band on dramamine.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Soulcalibur IV Breaks Street Part II: Gameplay Video]]> Is it just me, or are these guys freaking horrible at Soul Calibur? I don't think I saw one block or grab the whole time.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Googly Eyed Impressions Of Slippery Physics]]> I think I'm actually looking more forward to the original BK release on XBLA, but I'll still end up getting the new version if it's reviewed fairly well.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Rumor: Prank Results in Half-Assed "Confirmation" of GTA IV for PC]]> @Strangelove:

shouldn't release

Damnit.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Rumor: Prank Results in Half-Assed "Confirmation" of GTA IV for PC]]> @DevoL:

By that rationale, they should release Batman: The Dark Knight because some asshole with a camcorder somewhere is making bootleg DVDs. Go ahead, cut off your nose to spite your face.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Rumor: Prank Results in Half-Assed "Confirmation" of GTA IV for PC]]> I have fully expected a PC port, considering all the past GTAs have been on PC. It will probably come out this fall in time for the holiday season.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on E3 in (Two) Comics]]> There's no comparison in the two strips. PA is consistently brilliant, concise, well-drawn and well-written. While a little over-exposed at this point, it's only because the strip is so goddamned good. Best comic since Calvin & Hobbes.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on NCAA Football 09 Has a Shitload of Problems]]> Yet another example of why NCAA Football sucks compared to the NFL.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Next Week On Rock Band: A Very Special NIN Pack]]> @Red Machine D:

Um, I hate to tell you, but over 70% of the country is on the Bush-sucks bandwagon. I mean, where have you been the last eight years.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on What Did You Think Of The Too Human Demo?]]> It felt like Hellgate-lite with one of the worst control schemes I've ever used. I thought the whole Norse mythology thing was basically a gimmick,
found the enemies uninspired, and thought the universe in general was just pretty generic. In other words, it did nothing for me. I'll wait for Diablo III or just play Titan Quest again.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Next Week On Rock Band: A Very Special NIN Pack]]> And that's a definite purchase for me ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Xbox Division FINALLY Reports Profitable Year]]> Eh, when you've got enough money to burn which Microsoft obviously has, they can take a negative hit for a few years to build up the brand identity.

I'm more concerned that Vista sucks and they're moving up the next Windows version to be released sooner.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Here's The Gears Of War 2: More Expensive Edition]]> I've sworn of Collector's Editions because I never read the books or watch the extra making-of DVDs, it's just a waste of $10 for me.

And the new trend for extra in-game items, especially in MMOs, just sucks. It's like a $10 microtransaction built into the game.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on inFamous Trailer, Screens Will Shock You]]> Looks pretty cool. I agree graphics-wise it looks way better than Crackdown, but that's at least in part because I hated that quasi-cel-shaded, everything-highlighted-with-a-blue-ring look in Crackdown.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Would You Play A Halo MMO?]]> @Blue_Six:

I was under the impression it was originally a 3rd person rts-style game, based upon the original trailers.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Would You Play A Halo MMO?]]> If it was real-time combat Planetside-style, hell fucking yes.

But honestly, Halo's balance in MP, as far as weapon/vehicle choice, would be totally screwed if they added CoD4-style leveling. I think that Halo's mp is fine the way it is.

But there's no way I could resist, either.

<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on June: PS3 Beats 360, Wii Beats PS3, DS Beats Wii]]> @Abno:

I stand corrected.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Jimi Hendrix Confirmed For Guitar Hero]]> Little Wing? Sign me the fuck up. I was on the fence until I found out Rock Band's instruments will work. Day 1 purchase for me.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on June: PS3 Beats 360, Wii Beats PS3, DS Beats Wii]]> Well, of course PS3 was going to get a large bump in sales due to MGSIV. There hasn't been a really high-quality 360 title since GTAIV, and that sold more 360s than PS3s. I think the holiday season sales are going to be a lot more indicative of the future.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Yep! Next KOTOR Is MMO]]> Awesome, just awesome. KOTOR had a better story than the new Trilogy.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Jade Empire Is Your Next Xbox Original]]> Oh, man, I picked up Jade Empire on Steam and completely forgot about it after my computer crashed and I lost my save file. The sad truth is, as fun as the game was, I have zero intention of reinstalling because I don't want to start over.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Madworld E3 Trailer]]> I liked everything except for the dartboard and the announcers. I was pretty surprised it's for Wii, though (and disappointed, because I was thinking of getting it).

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Mirror's Edge Motion Sickness]]> Mirror's Edge reminds me a bit of Namco's Breakdown as far as the omnipresence of the character model and its incorporation in the environment. While it's not my most anticipated game of the year (Fallout 3), as long as it's reviewed fairly well I'll most likely pick it up.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on GH: World Tour Open to Rock Band Instruments]]> Thank god, World Tour just completely resurrected itself for me. There was no way I was buying a whole new set of instruments, but if I can just buy the game and play I'll definitely pick it up.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Prince Of Persia's "Yorda" Makes You Feel "Cool", As Opposed To "Very Angry"]]> This just makes me want to play ICO again. Damnit, that was the best game ever made.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on PS3 "Massive Action Game" Announced; Promises Battles Up to 256 Players]]> @silkysm00th:

Why then didn't Sony just show a new SOCOM? They already have the brand identity and loyalty, where is the new SOCOM already?

No wonder Sony thinks the PS3 is a ten year platform, it's going to take them that long to finish all the games (and Home).

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on God Of War III Debut Trailer]]> No gameplay, eh? Looks like a fall 2009 release to me.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Bungie Game Reveal Blocked By Publisher]]> Damnit, this was the one thing besides Fallout 3 I was really looking forward to this E3. Boo-urns.

]]>
<![CDATA[Strangelove commented on Final Fantasy XIII Is A Traitor, Square Must Apologise]]> @ShaggE:

Oh, you just don't understand. It's a spin-off of the old Faggot Show, like the Muppet Babies. N00b. Personally, I'm waiting for Faggle Rock.

@Corrin:

You'll have to let me know what the banhammer feels like.
