I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying this, but...

You can only control Lightning during the ~5 minute scripted intro (multiple battles + QTEs) to the game. That is, prior to the DLC anyway. Now she can join your party as a "monster" companion at any point.

So... Buy PSN gift cards when they're 25% off*, then buy Vita games for another ~10%(?) off... making for a 35% discount right out of the gate on any downloadable Vita title? And that's before any sales or other discounts?

Almost makes up for the exorbitantly priced memory cards. Almost.

*Walmart Canada had a buy 2 for $30 on $20 PSN cards back in November.

"...if you'r rather 4x the clarity of the vanilla game"

Not sure what's going on there, mate. ;)

#corrections

Yes!

And I'm sure I'm not the only one who just now instantly recalled the Frog theme song...

Unfortunately, it's each time you'd start up the game. No idea why it takes so much longer to load these. I've used similar mods for other games, and have only gotten hit for an extra few seconds, maybe.
Not too worried about the apparently low system reqs, to be honest.

I'm sure it's not anything a few high-res texture mods can't spruce up a bit.

Just finished my FFXIII platinum run the other day... About ~90 hours, and I took my sweet time through most of the game. Definitely tame by JRPG standards.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope, anyone? Wtf were they thinking when they came up with that trophy/achievement set?

Oh, I didn't think you were, though I now see how what I said could have been interpreted as such.

I never bothered with the backlash because the more I thought about it, the more irrelevant his opinion seemed. I wouldn't ask him the question because I do not care what his response is. There is no one person who determines what is or isn't art. And if there were just one person, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be Ebert. *shrug*

Why, though? It's like asking him: "Hey, is gaming art yet?"

But the fact remains that whether or not gaming is art, Ebert's opinion on the matter makes not one iota of difference.

I generally like Audis and I love P4, but this is truly horrendous.

What the pink?

Seems appropriate.

I completed a good portion of the challenges with a DS3 before switching over to a steering wheel. I find that while the wheel vastly improves the experience of the game, it does not always handle easier than a controller. The wheel is great, but it certainly won't help you make quick, consecutive turns in opposing directions, like you'd need to do for the x1/x2010 races.

Sticking with a controller is certainly a viable option. :)

Thanks for the heads up. Saved me $0.99! :D
Our new $100 is seriously nice, isn't it?

Kinda don't blame her for doing what she did, though. The first time I saw it I thought it was fake too. Then again, I didn't call the cops either... ^^;

"...you have a one frame window to hit the connec..."

*throws hands up*

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love watching games like Guilty Gear and MvC in motion, and do own a few fighting games. But the first time I saw false roman cancels chained in a combo... I knew I was out of my element.

"...Tiny Thor."

*glances at picture...*

So true. :)

O lawd, I can't stop laughing.

"KILL the fucking walrus. Who the fuck wants to be a walrus."
I hope it doesn't end up like that, but I'll echo the sentiment. There isn't anything that'll convince me to spring for a 3DS before the inevitable redesign.
