<![CDATA[Comments from Shteve]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Shteve]]> <![CDATA[Shteve commented on Microsoft Poll: One of Five Canadian Men Game in the Nude]]> I am a proud Canadian but I only remember playing naked once. For the few of you intrigued it was Tennis on Wii Sports with my girlfriend ... I won't tell anything more.

<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Civilization Revolution Review: Compromise, Or Compromised?]]> I tried the demo and couldn't get into it, Civilization IV is simply too good to justify spending 60$ on a stripped down version. I'd recommend buying Civ IV instead of Revolution to anyone since it's not hard on computer specs.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Sid Meier Won't Turn His Back On Wii]]> When I heard of Civilization Revolution I thought it was going to the Wii for sur since the closest you can get to the mouse. I still believe it should but by that time I'll probably get it on PS3.

<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Rumor: LucasArts to Halt All Internal Development]]> but me wanted another knights of the old republic ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on USB HDD on Nintendo Horizon?]]> @LittleBigPlaneteer: The problem is that you can't play a game stored into an SD card. Nintendo won't have any other choice than using an HDD ... someday ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on What Game Genre Leaves You Cold, Oh So Very Cold?]]> I like FPS but as soon as you throw aliens, giant bugs, mutants or giant alien mutant bugs I get out. Just like Far Cry, loved it, than it started to have mutants and less people, so I never finished it. I can't play Halo, Crysis, etc...

I can't play MMORPG's too. I love RPG's but I can't get into MMO's, it's boring and I can't stand monthly fees.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Soulcalibur's Secret Apprentice In Action]]> Is there any real advantage of holding a sword backward ?!

*Coolness isn't considered an advantage.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Kevin Garnett, NBA 2K9 Salesman Supreme]]> It's hard to believe him since he was on the cover of NBA Live 2001 from EA Sports ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on See Word's Spell Checker Struggle With Game Names]]> I beat you all cause my PC langage is set to french, but I'm always writting in english. In the last sentence there's 11 red lines !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Kevin Garnett Lands Opportunistically On Cover Of NBA2K9]]> I'm a big fan of Garnett and the Celtics but that cover really is boring. Come on Kevin, do something !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Dragonforce 100% On Expert]]> @djack:
1. Those parts are only hammer-ons and pull-offs
2. You can engage star power with the "reset" button, though sometimes I do wonder how he's able to press it while playiing
3. 300 volts ?

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Dragonforce 100% On Expert]]> I might not be able to do this but at least I never play sitting on the couch ...

Anyway, good for him, now he'll be able to play something else after beating everything possible in this one !

<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Yahoo! Japan Polls Interest In Buying Metal Gear Solid 4]]> Those number of votes are way too small to give any recognition to this poll. The error marging must be quite large !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on The Week in Games: Kung Fu Bug's Life Bee Movie Cars Panda]]> Decent week, but I still have to play through Mass Effect, and MGS 4 is coming in two weeks, so no games this week !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Mass Effect PC Ships, DLC Doesn't Quite Ship]]> Went to buy it this morning to find that it launches tomorrow in Canada, which is sad since I had nothing to do today.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Zero Punctuation Takes On The World Ends With You]]> His review was funny but I don't understand his complain about how the player has no influence on the story in JRPG's. I'm trying real hard to find games where the story can be greatly influenced by the player and don't really find one. Shooters ? No. Action/Adventure games ? No. Platformers ? No. Puzzle games ... Even Sandbox games à la GTA have a well fixed story.

There's games like Chrono Trigger that has different endings, but wait, that's an JRPG ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Guitar Hero: World Tour Demo Vid]]> At least they could have shown Tony Hawk how to wear the strap ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Stringer: PS3 No Longer On "Life Support"]]> "titles coming down the pipeline that he says will make good use of the PS3's processing power"

By "titles", he means title, which is Metal Gear Solid 4 right ? What else could add that "s" to titles ?

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Kotick Debuts Guitar Hero World Tour]]> It's funny how the major complain about this game is: "Hell, I'm not going to buy another pack of instruments"

Well, don't buiy it, but don't bitch about it likes it's the worst game ever. You've got Rock Band, good for you, now there's plenty of people that still haven't purchased it, that might want to give a try to GH4. And who knows, GH4 might be way better than RB.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Kotick Debuts Guitar Hero World Tour]]> That's quite nice, Chad Smith and Travis Barker are great drummers I love pretty much (The Police's drummer isn't that cool). Nice to see they showed some love to Blink 182 by including dammit. It's the first song I've learned on drums and the first I've played with a band ! Though it doesn't express very well the talent of Travis since it was originally created by Scott, which sucked !

The drum looks better than the Rock Band one, though my major complain about it was the shitty pedal, and the GH one doesn't that great either.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Metal Gear Solid Books It To Store Shelves]]> Nice to see it has sold more copies than "In the Woods" and "Nefertiti". I hope it's written better than the Halo books ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Dr. Mario Online RX Hits North American WiiWare]]> If my mom knows there's a Dr. Mario on the wii, I won't be able to play it anymore. It seems like even though mothers can't play the simplest video games, they kick ass in puzzle games. I've never been able to beat her on Dr. Mario. Is there online leader boards in the game ? She'll make the top, let's go mom !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on The Big Publisher's Metacritic Averages]]> @Luke Plunkett: you do know that 67.8 means 68, not 67 ... right ?

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Guitar Hero Expert Beats Dragonforce Record Score]]> I didn't care about playing this song when I got the game, then I tried it and started hating it, then I played online and hated it at the highest level. 50% of the games played, the opponent chose it so he can prove ... well nothing cause obviously he just picked it cause he can't play it on solo without dying.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on MGS4 Has 90-Minute Cutscenes [UPDATE]]]> You sure need a lot of time ahead of you if you're planning to play MGS. In MGS3, you need to plan at least 3 hours to finish the game (from the Volgin fight to the very end of the credits).

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on How Many Buttons Does The New Guitar Hero Controller Need?]]> I don't care about the number of buttons, I wanna know why it's shaped like a Kramer instead of a Gibson. The new GH model is ugly !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on GTA IV: Jack Thompson Edition]]> I didn't believe in it when a guy wearing a Blink 182 hoodie changed to the hip hop station

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Guitar Hero World Tour Video Debut]]> Yeah ! A bunch of cool looking kids rocking out on plastic instruments and lip synching ! Could the trailer be more pointless and cheesy ?

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Nintendo: Wii Has Highest Software Sales for First 18 Months]]> @ali_g_84uk: I've taken a quick look and there's not really big games coming for the wii for the next months:
-Wii Fit (today)
-Rock Band
-Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
-Harvest Moon

So yeah, I totally agree, Nintendo doesn't have much left to offer. No wonder why I'm buying a PS3 for the summer.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Nintendo: Wii Has Highest Software Sales for First 18 Months]]> Good for you Nintendo. Now let's not show the attach rate numbers ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Controlling Content in LittleBigPlanet or You Got Your Penis On My SackBoy]]> @fadecy: I think it's more about the pictures you can upload in the game. You can't go on Nintendo.com, take an image of Mario and put it in the game.

The same way, a University teacher can't use images from a book in it's power point without approbation of the writter of the book.

If you do everything by yourself when reproducing a Mario stage, I don't think there's copyright violation.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Difficulty: The Designer Perspective]]> @DyneMacron: You're right that's Civilization 4, and if I see clearly, there's a Marine unit so it has the Warlord expansion.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Difficulty: The Designer Perspective]]> What would games like Civilization do without difficulty levels ? There's like 9 levels and even if I played a lot on Civ 4, I'm barely able to play on level 5 ! So yeah, difficulty levels are important and it's nice to have choice. Usually I like to play games at the normal difficulty, that's where I find the most enjoyment, you get challenged enough, without having to get angry at the game cause it makes you start over again and again.

I like challenging boss fights but my limit of start over is about 3, after I just play something else ...

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Limited Edition MGS4 "Gun Metal Gray" PS3 Is A Konami.com Exclusive]]> This has sealed the deal for me. I thought it might be cool to have the grey PS3, considering I don't care that much about the 40gb (I got a 80gb collecting dust in the drawer) and backward compatibility. But at that price I'll pass !

I'll be more pleased with the 80gb, i don't really need the special edition version of the game.

<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Hockey All-Star Rick Nash Gets NHL 2K9 Cover]]> @Ethereal006: I'm sure he needed the Dodge truck they give to the winner to place between his Porsche and his Hummer.

Rick Nash is a good choice for the cover. Now that Staal was on NHL 2008 cover, I don't know how this one could be judged bad choice.

And he probably scored the best goal of the season:

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Nintendo Says There Is No Casual Gaming]]> Well I'd have to agree with him, not with his arguments because they suck, but with his main idea. Casual-hardcore debate is a relatively new fanboy concept. Concept that was created so they can argue on and on and on, on stupid subjects like: That game is casual, I don't play it, I'm a hardcore gamer, I play elaborated games.

There's always been "casual" and "hardcore" games if you like to use that type of categorization. But we started recently, to use these concepts. Personnaly, I don't use it, I prefer to categorize games between the ones I think are good, and the ones I think are bad. So yeah, there is no casual gaming, and no hardcore gaming either. It all depends if you stick to the way it's categorized.

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on How To Skate It On Wii And DS]]> No matter how good it will look on video, I'm pretty much sure it won't respond that well with the wiimote. Maybe I could nail a crazy figure simply by throwing the wiimote in the air, but that would mean to not use the wrist strap, which is totally illegal !

]]>
<![CDATA[Shteve commented on Guitar Hero 4 Drums Revealed]]> @TheManator: The thing is that you can do the same thing with a lot of aspects of the video game industry, the electronics industry and pretty much the overall commercial industry ...
