Yeah, I was smitten the first time I used the demo unit at Best Buy. It's certainly not the most powerful tablet out there, but it's still extremely impressive for the price. Can't wait to dig into all the apps I've been missing out on.

Gearbox and Triptych polished and edited what 3D Realms gave them, according to Randy Pitchford. If you watch the leaked, unfinished footage of the final 3D Realms build, you'll see a lot of stuff from the released product.

Shame that the single-player DLC wasn't longer... it was actually decent, save for the shittiness ingrained into the game mechanics, and even funny in spots. If only the main game were more like the DLC.
Three of the companions are pay only, but I understand they don't actually do anything, for what it's worth.

I haven't bought the game yet myself, but I watched a lot of gameplay on Giant Bomb, and it looks pretty great.

All those DLCs are unlockable through gameplay.
Read up on publishers sometime. Then look at the amount of milked franchises compared to new IPs.

THAT'S why this is happening.

This could be a great way to inject some creativity back into games, but it all rides on the quality of the first few kickstarted high-profile titles.
