ANYBODY with IIDX in his name deserves applause. Best music game ever, undoubtedly!

How good are you? I'm still not that great. I can pass probably one-third of all the 10s and I've passed Halfway of Promise [a] as my only "11".

Now, if the IIDX in your name is unrelated to beatmania (somehow), I'll feel quite foolish!

To answer your question: I' consider the following to be representative of the DS' "quality" Adventure/RPG line-up:

• Contact (though the gameplay is fairly basic it's a stylistically brilliant game).

• Final Fantasy 3 (great, uber-traditional RPG. Hardly fair to label this one "just a port" considering it's never been available outside of Japan until now.)

• Front Mission (same as above, minus the "traditional RPG" part)

• Luminous Arc
• Rondo of Swords

(Both Luminous and Rondo are great, original SRPGs.)

• Children of Mana
• Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja
• Shiren the Wanderer
• Etrian Odyssey 1 and 2

(The DS has the portable market corned on dungeon-hacks/rougelikes. Etrian Odyssey being a particularly sublime experience.)

• Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings (a good, RTS-lite.)
• Heroes of Mana (again, solid RTS game)

• Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (this game is simply a wonder. Great production values, great gameplay, fun, charming...I've never had a game evoke such a nostalgic feeling of PSX-era Square)

• Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (fun, charming little adventure game)

• Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (great monster collecting/fighting game. Particularly for those who aren't in to Pokemon.)

• Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (I thought The Wind Waker was a practically religious experience and this game is a worthy follow-up.)

• And don't forget the DS is also getting Dragon Quest 4-6, Dragon Quest 9, Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One, Sigma Harmonics, and Fire Emblem.

Anyway, there you have it. I tried not to go into any exhaustive detail, so if you have any particular questions or objections to a specific title or titles just let me know. Either way, I think that even accounting for personal taste it can't be denied that the DS offers enough options to cater to pretty much any RPG taste. But the library still isn't quite as robust as the PSP's and does suffer (in spots) from a certain degree of "casual appeal" being inflicted upon it.
