<![CDATA[Comments from September]]> <![CDATA[Comments from September]]> <![CDATA[September commented on Pyros Blow In The New TF2 Update]]> Great! I've recently been getting into the Pyro, but find it frustrating that most times I find myself sacrificing my character in order to flame 1-3 people (sometimes killing them in the process or getting an assist). The other problem with Pyro is that they are EXTREMELY limited to close range--the compression gun sounds like a neat idea without overpowering the Pyro too much; I doubt it'll send the opponent flying backward, but enough to buy the Pyro some time to escape.

<![CDATA[September commented on Return of the Game Club]]> Nice! I just started playing this game to see what was so good about it. I'm pleasantly surprised so far.

@Northern Cat:
Although, I'd get it for the consoles rather than PC--all the versions have some game-breaking bugs (IE; SAVE OFTEN and in multiple slots!), but the PC version is just problematic because it was made when dynamic processor switching wasn't avaiable. This leads to a lot of desyncing with voices and cutscenes. Plus.. for some reason, the game has problems rendering water on high and slows my FPS to a crawl; this is a known issue with the PC game too. Only way to solve it is by putting the water setting to low.

<![CDATA[September commented on Spore System Requirements Are Decidedly Sane]]> @chucklebuck:

Yeah, feeling a bit pessimistic here because I feel like these are minimum system requirements, not the recommended system requirements. If so, I just barely make the ones that are listed here. Still, either way, this game is going to be a must buy. I WANT.

<![CDATA[September commented on And Now, Some Resistance 2 Performance Stats]]> Awesome. I don't see why most games aren't 720P and why 1080I/P is so hyped... seriously--you can't tell the difference between the two unless you have a TV larger than 42". The 30 FPS kind of jabbed at me, but as long as the game is smooth, it's fine. Besides... 60 player multiplayer? Awesome.

<![CDATA[September commented on After Itagaki Announcement, Tecmo Stock Price Drops]]> Yowch. That hurts. A lot. Thinking about it now, it seems perfectly logical. I always associated Itagaki with Tecmo. No Itagaki = ... what the hell is Tecmo?

]]>
<![CDATA[September commented on Zero Punctuation On Oblivion]]> Hahaha, that was hilarious. It's the first time I've watched one of Yahtzee's videos and frankly, everything he says is true. Still enjoyed the game nonetheless. Ironically, I had the same glitch he did when he was talking about the beggar woman--for some reason she'd go from croaky voice to a rich aristocratic voice. Very weird.

<![CDATA[September commented on UPDATE: My <s>Half</s> Whole-Assed Attempt to Give You the Resident Evil 5 Trailer]]> Wow, no wonder Chris has biceps like Zeus. Every single time he uppercut one of those guys, flung at least three or four of them flying. Certainly seems much more intense and fast paced than RE4. Hordes of multiple zombies are after you in this one--I'm interested to see how they're going to improvise the aiming system; if the sensitivity and movement is as slow as in RE4, it'd be impossible to take out that many zombies at a time Unless the melee combat they showed is going to be a major part of the game as well.

<![CDATA[September commented on Fatal Frame IV Gets A Release Date]]> I love both series of games, but I think Fatal Frame takes the cake gameplay-wise. Silent Hill's gameplay hasn't changed much from its original incarnation and it's still quite clumsy; the thing Silent Hill completely nails is atmosphere though. Everything is so tense in that game; even when nothing is happening, the overall music and backdrop really get you going. Fatal Frame's gameplay isn't much different from when the first game was released either, but it's definitely more modern and less archaic--being able to pump stats into your camera to suit your tastes was a huge plus to me. And, from a design standpoint, I really like how Fatal Frame handles frightening moments. A GOOD chunk of being so on edge in that game is because of the way you have to "capture" or ward away ghosts via the first person perspective to use the camera. I think it was purposely designed that way--great execution too. Kind of dismayed that Fatal Frame IV is only for Nintendo though, the previous ones were on PS2 and I was hoping for it to be on PS3 as well or at least multiplatform.

<![CDATA[September commented on Resident Evil 5 Screens]]> So, every time I look at screens of RE5, I think to myself: "Holy shit, his biceps are the size of his FACE."

Am I the only one...?

<![CDATA[September commented on New, Proper Prince Of Persia Screens]]> Beautiful. Being a previous art student, I love when games try to push the boundaries in design of video games. Seriously, it's developers that go out on a limb (like Clover/Platinum Games) to create games that can be labeled as art. It's only sad that the majority of the populace seems to be so turned off. So many view realism as the defining factor of what makes a game graphically technical, but I think it's games like this new Prince of Persia that really are a feast for the eyes. I think the new look is great--the backgrounds/cliffs all have a water-colored feel to them. I was looking for something new, and this just seems to be it!

<![CDATA[September commented on The Conduit: About Damn Time]]> I so felt a Perfect Dark vibe from this too. I think it looks great for a Wii game.

]]>
<![CDATA[September commented on FFVII Director On Chances Of A Remake]]> Does anyone else think this is stupid? Honestly, I would love a Final Fantasy VII remake, but Square has always been telling us that a remake is a "possibility" on more than one occasion... starting when the PS2 first came out. Am I the only one desensitized to this kind of "positive outlook" that Square gives everytime someone asks for a FF7 remake?

<![CDATA[September commented on Mafia II Headed to PS3, 360, PC]]> Nice. I remember the first Mafia. Knowing that the original developers are making the sequel is comforting in itself--glad to know it's in good hands. The screenshots look amazing and are chock full of so much detail.

<![CDATA[September commented on Pretty Sure This Violates the Warranty]]> I don't know it does in terms of improving cooling, but my God, that looks like a monster of an Xbox 360. Like.. in the sense of the word "ugly." Also, I WOULD say it's an impressive job but from looking at the thread and the pictures, the work looks so shoddy. It looks like he's holding down the parts through different bolts and elastic bands.

Couldn't it, you know, at least look a bit more aesthetic?

<![CDATA[September commented on BioWare Will Make You Love Sonic's Shitty Friends]]> I haven't played Sonic since the Genesis days. I heard the last good one was Adventure for DC. But.. after that, mostly downhill. So.. wonder if I should give this a shot. Freakin' Bioware IS amazing, but something about the Sonic franchise and how it's been so stale/decrepit for years now is going to be hard to make up for.

<![CDATA[September commented on New Direct Feed StarCraft II Zerg Clips]]> I'm always impressed by Blizzard. Zerg was and still is my favorite race in Starcraft. And for those complaining about the graphics, I don't get it... This is Blizzard's own style/art direction and they've always strayed from the heard in terms of that. I think it looks fabulous. I can't wait to get my hands on some new information on Zerg units. I savor mooorree!

<![CDATA[September commented on Sega Didn't Ask About Your Dreamcast, Some Dirty Rotten Scoundrel Did]]> Dirty... I'm always (as I'm sure many other students) to this in college. Spam mail in my own student e-mail account happens to leak through at times and ask for PayPal information and other such things. Some people fall for it as not everyone is completely internet-savvy. It's disappointing really, I hate this kind of stuff.
