Another japanese company that doesn't wish to put any effort into their hardware/software outside of JP, and will then blame US for its flop here.

Happened with SEGA and the Phantasy Star Online/Universe series, where the NA release got nothing, and no support or real updates compared to the JP version.

Happened with Capcom and Monster Hunter series, which should be MASSIVE here, but there is no effort on capcoms part to market, sell or even put any effort into the game outside of japan.

The sooner these JP companies wake up and stop being so xenophobic and realize there is much more money to be made with a little risk and effort, instead of just going for the safe JP bet everytime, the better for everyone. One day that market is going to fully dry up (it practically already is compared to the late 90s/early 2000s...)

I've been saying this for 3 years now. EA needs to make an iOS/Android/WP7 app for the Mass Effect universe CODEX. I have read and listened to every codex entry in both games and think its one of the BEST laid out universes in sci-fi. Making this a 99c app that has all the info about the universe (and narrated please), it would sell well with nerds I bet... PLEASE EA...
Supposedly, there is maintenance tonight to address said updater issues... who knows how true that is...
While Dark Reign was always the 3rd/4th tier behind CnC/SC/Total Annihilation, but man was it still a solid RTS (and loved the 2nd one). As much as it doesnt controll all that well on console, its a valiant effort and my 5$ was well spent on this. Thanks Magenetar great port..
There is 100% no way this is written by the SAME Tim Rogers who can't spell, has horrid sentence structure and rambles on about random nothing for six hundred and thirty eight pages on his favourite colours in videogames...

Either that or hes on/off his meds, as this is not only his best piece of work for the site, but also pretty damn funny and well written.

Seriously, MORE OF THESE.

You also should have collaborated with Owen Good on the Pac Man piece... Just saying: [kotaku.com]

There is a huge difference between the Online Pass technique and alienating the brick and mortar stores that account for 65% of your sold software, and 95% of your sold hardware...

Honestly, this news store reeks of "me-to" after IGN broke some inconsequential "6x powerful" news with no backing and other news sites didn't want to be left out with some news.

Will online-passes be the defacto-standard going forth? Most likely. Will MS include a technology limitation that will destroy their business? God no...

This news is hot air.

I have to say I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, I agree that the game is nearly perfect in every way and was just fantastic to play and the ending ended it well.

However, those same things also make me want to explore the world more. The setting was fantastic and really interesting, the characters started off as typical whiney b****es, but ended up having a pretty complex evolution over the course of the game, and the developers who made the game clearly LOVED what they were doing. I would love to see them with another game in the series, maybe far seperated from Shibuya, even in a different time, but with the same ideas behind it. I think it could still work without ruining such a fantastic original title.

What saddens me is that most people I know have never even heard of the game, and a sequel might get people interested in what I consider to be the BEST portable game I may have ever played.

Oh and I still have the JP and US soundtrack on my iphone, the music is bloody fantastic and there isnt a handheld game (apart from MAYBE patapon) that has as memorable music...

Oops, lol. Yeah sorry, WRONG comment, I feel like an idiot.
IGN gave the game a 2/10. Now I know people bitch about reviews etc, but seriously, a 2 is pretty damning...
I actually contacted a few people whos facebook was taken over and used their recovery email addresses to send them info on how to get back into their accounts. Then changed the password on the account and deleted the recovery email address for the hacking account.
Very true, but with the incursion on XBL, the breach stops at xbox account info and the ability to buy points on XBL, with no exposure of credit card details, so while yes, the vunrability is pretty serious, its contained. In the PSn account leak, CCs were included in the information and resulted in the cancellation of millions of CC numbers that were exposed. As for the 0 verified reports, there was many pastebins of bits and pieces of the leaked account infos that floated around for awhile.
In all fairness, thats not really true. The PSN attack exposed pretty much the entire database of account info to the "hackers" where as the MS exploit still needs to prey on weak passwords and the user shares a portion of the blame here.

On top of that, no one knows the true cost/extend of damage either attack has caused and therefore we don't know which is "worse"... Either way, most of the hoopla over the PSn attack was the weeks of downtime after...

Just want to post my theory. late last year I had someone attempt to join my windows live email account with a fake one of their own by doing the linked IDs technique and then trying to recovery passwords. If they had of succeeded (either by guessing my account pw, or having the pw recovered to their email address, or me clicking on the "confirm account" email that looked like it was mine), I would have been screwed.

I did however use this to my advantage, and actually was able to log into HIS account and saw he had compromised a few hundred email addresses and facebook accounts and was using these on xbox (there was purchase emails).

Thats how I think they are doing it, with linked IDs.

Yeah I remember getting all the ME2 DLC free, it was like 4am EST and was well worth the DL...
Clocked over 150 hours in Skyrim so far, and the music is mostly stellar, its one of those things that you don't instantly notice you are listening until it changes, and you realize "Hey, i was just listening to that!" type of feeling. Its very good. However my fav piece in recent memory is this one from Oblivion:

I just live the magical feeling you get from the flute part like 55secs in, it still gives me goose bumps.

Sadly the gf forces me to watch glee every week, and while sometimes the music is decent, and Sue steals the show, the rest of it is mostly complete shit. However, the holiday special from tuesday wasn't half bad. It actually shows that some of this cast can act, and sing, and it wasn't a chore to watch. Too bad I'm sure the next episode will go back to the sucking...
EA screwed up the last few CnCs directly because they gutted the original westwood guys, forcing most of them to leave and form petroglyph games. I know Bioware is owned by EA, but everyone knows Bioware gets a fuckton of leeway when it comes to their developments. Unlike most other EA games where EA corp has a huge hand in tinkering with shit and making it as profitable as possible, most bioware teams get free reign over their developments, and such this could end up being a great game. As for whos actually making it, most likely Victory Games within bioware and with help and assets from other teams. It could end up being pretty good if EA backs off and lets them do their own thing.
I can safetly say I have played more than you, and I come to a different conclusion...
