Instead of panning betas for having server issues time may be better spent panning full retail games that suffer from the same issues.
Historical example - the world not being able to play BF2 because a server occasionally hiccups in EA's Reichstag.
Contemporary example - Trackmania Nations Purchases on Steam, keys have a tendency to be authed to random inaccessible accounts.
