Boot-up jingles? Man, I'm from the old school, we didn't HAVE boot-up jingles back in the day.
@pitseleh0: No. Even the Wii wasn't completely dry in the first few months after holiday. there is NOTHING being released for Kinect. At ALL. Not "nothing but shovelware." NOTHING.

Every system I've ever bought, including the Wii, had SOMETHING to buy after the initial launch lineup. Not GOTY material, but something to keep users amused and the system running before the big hitters came in. Kinect had Dance Central, sure, but NOTHING has come out since. Microsoft can't afford to leave this high and dry like they did with Game Room, or people are going to get real sour, real fast.
That's cute.

But I don't know how they can extend the toy line any more. Maybe make other clothes for him?
Chinese don't have any ideas of their own, use other people's shit in a half-assed way. Film at fuckin' 11.
Metacritic has been irrelevant since its inception, but that hasn't stopped short-minded, publicly-traded companies from using it as a basis for making decisions. This is going to destroy the already-besieged game industry, or come damned close to it.
Well, to be fair, that's probably where everyone ELSE is.
For real. What the fuck's he need to convince these people, a giant Pikachu mattress and Charmander plushie?
To the people berating others for relying on reviews, ideally it's not about just following the words of a review verbatim, but analyzing what was said, and more importantly, WHO said it. Just like with game reviews, the important thing is to find a reviewer, or group of reviewers, whom you can trust and/or who share a similar set of tastes as yourself. Remember, the wisest of us reviews the reviewer.
Not to mention a really nice chunk of Africa, parts of the Mid-East (though one could argue CoD4 had parts in a fictionalized Saudi Arabia), Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) and most of non-Communist Asia, and New Zealand.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'd love to play as part of the heroic Madagascar Liberation Front as the evil Canadian military came in to try to invade our land.
I'm not entirely sure about this argument. Most military games have a pretty diverse (racially, at least) set. While not often the MAIN character, modern military games have plenty of black and hispanic supporting characters. The only problem with WWII games, where our units were segregated, but that probably has more to do with customer demographics - You'd have nothing BUT black characters in a WWII game about a colored unit, and that might be hard to market in much of our country.
Well, Japan rarely makes games that take place in the real world, so it's hard to really use their games as an example.
It makes the point, though. We've had far worse, and should have learned by now that it's not about the cover.

Lord knows we'd have never played Megaman had we judged by that awful boxart.
Shame to hear. It's a crying shame all over that Hudson never really recovered from the whole NEC first party thing with the TurboGrafx 16. However, part of it falls on them: They have a ton of awesome properties they could bring back, but instead have chosen to drive Bomberman into the ground (save for a single Bonk re-release for PS2 in Japan). Seriously, where's my Lords/Gate of Thunder sequel?
I don't see the big deal. Long as the game itself isn't censored, I can deal with the difference in boxart.

Lord knows we in America should be used to... Suspect box art redesigns by now.
Pretty much this. Michael Vick has been nothing but an exceptional citizen since he got out of jail, and it's damned sad that he'll never hear the end of this, while Rothlesburger's rapecapades get swept under the rug.
Nope, 60-gig from January 2007, heavy as all get out.
Well, the lego models could be rebuilt. I imagine the REAL horror is finding all the pieces.
Both games on one disc wouldn't be so bad, though at this point they HAVE to rework Veronica at least a little bit. It would look embarrassing by today's standards.
THIS.

In absolutely crazy situations, the best and worst of humanity is put in stark contrast. It's happened repeatedly in history, and so it is here. Yes, we have fearmongers and ambulance chasers trying to push their agendas, but we also have the Japanese coming together in a way we should all be willing to in the face of unimaginable tragedy. They've got their faults, as do all societies, but they're not for want of strength and charity.
