Son. I am disappoint.

Jokes aside (Seriously, that picture is ridiculous), best of luck to him!

I wouldn't tell that story.
Super excited for Kotaku Melodic. Music is one of the most important things to me in games. I've even found myself playing games I might not otherwise have enjoyed, because of particularly good music or use of music.
That's a preview of the image. Hit expand to view the full gallery, as always.
So make that case. Dispute his argument with yours. That's how interesting discussion happens.

Dismissing him outright and just accusing Kotaku of linkbaiting accomplishes nothing, and just makes the commenters look bad.
What gives you that impression?
-
I think it's a pretty reasonable argument, and he certainly makes his case.
-
It's not an argument I agree with, not at all, but is that reason enough to say it's just being posted for hits? I'd like to think we Kotakuites are better than that kind of accusation.
Not saying these are the first great games. But it's been a while since I really enjoyed any.
Beat Sneak Bandit, and now this?

All of a sudden some genuinely great iOS games :D

"‘Photo Camo' system takes real pictures and transfers them to real in-game camo"

Ha! That's great.

I've had very few kind words for the Metal Gear series, mostly because I hate the writing, but I love those zany gameplay ideas. I'll give this a download.

I question the need for the product to exist.

I liked that video though. I hope that's how jeb always writes code.

All I remember was how no matter what I searched for, the first few results would always be the same "Yoda smokes weed," "Pikachu gets drunk," etc.
Technologically yes, but I think when people say it distances the two, they're speaking psychologically.

I don't think pushing a button in an office is the same thing mentally as standing in the room with a target and pulling the trigger.

Brotherhood and Revelations were not numbered on purpose. They saw them more as continuations of 2, continuing Ezio's story.

Presumably, 3 will follow another new protagonist in a new setting.

No, but they can "de-authorize" you or whatever crap they make up.

Make no mistake, even when you buy a physical disc, you're still "licensing" the game in their eyes.

At the very least, it's still habitable and there are people there.

Whether it's a dump or not, I'm really not sure.

Are you going to suffer through the Mass Effect 3 demo today for those daggers?

*evil grin*

Go to the Galaxy Map. You can fly to any planet and play a little mining mini-game for ore.

It's tedious, and it was one of the most common complaints with the game, but it's definitely your best bet as far as gathering that stuff. (There have also been some patches that made it a bit less annoying, making it faster/making the reticle bigger, etc)

**Easter Egg: Fly to the Sol system and try to launch a probe at Uranus. EDI chimes in :P

So, Doom 3. Why do I love it so much?

Objectively, it doesn't do a whole lot that usually impresses me in games. It's not a masterpiece of storytelling, it doesn't scare me at all (Games like Amnesia and Penumbra have numbed me to pop-out scares like Doom 3), the combat is solid but it's repetitive and predictable for most of the game.

So why do I keep going back to it? I'd say every once every year or two I find myself going into Steam and firing it up again, playing through the whole thing, and loving it. I love shooting imps with the shotgun, I love listening to the audio logs, I love exploring with the flashlight, I love that scene where the Pinky tries to break down the door...I guess I'm answering my own question.

I just don't quite understand why it stands out so much for me, while similar games often don't appeal to me.
