Hi Luke. Any chance that you could do a feature article on the uber-rare silver Skylanders figures?
In case you aren't aware, there are a very limited number of alternative coloured Skylanders figures scattered across the globe, which are only now starting to surface. There's not really much info about them online right now, but there are several images which can be found via a very simple Google search.
I think this is something which would make an interesting Kotaku article, especially as Skylanders seems to be quite a hot game right now. Skylanders fans and collectors of the figures would no doubt like to know about these rare variant figures, and I personally know of several collectors who are keen to get hold of these silver coloured variants
i believe that you are right .. and i appreciate your courage to stop this nonsense of Hating Call Of Duty

I'll try to be more careful next time.
Make sarcasm obvious.
Anyhow sorry for the drama.

I only hate a few people on God's green earth, and none of them are people I only know through...
Concerning a post about chell fanart.
This was a joke.
It was Sarcasm. You know because Chell is actually a respectable female heroine.
Do really really hate me this much Luke. Because I can just leave if you want me to. I say this because this is the 2nd time you've taken my star over a simple misunderstanding.
Maybe you can confirm that a user was trolling before you take a star away.
That would indeed be great! I know you did a feature on the Nintendo CDi games (Zelda's and Hotel Mario) and how they ended up on the CDi, and think a similar article about the Atari Nintendo games would make an interesting read!
I'm not sure how much info is documented about these online though, but I am sure you have the resources to find out!

Luke Plunkett:
Sure, can definitely do that. We've touched on Donkey Kong a few times in previous ones, but as a dedicated...
Plunkett - Would it be possible for you to do a Total Recall on how franchises such as Mario Bros and Donkey Kong etc ended up being ported to the Atari 2600 and 7200? I think it would make a really interesting Total Recall feature, especially considering most people don't even know that these games were released on Atari
Can always count on Luke to get the soccer posts on Kotaku. Keep 'em coming, eff the haters. :D
Luke, you recently published an article about Lords of Uberdark.
If you like it and want it to succeed you might consider creating another article about its kickstarter page.

Looks legit. Aaron needs to raise 20 grand before August 7th or the project wont get funded. (guessing he'll stop coding it?) anyway this thing looks VERY promising and i'd like to see it get out there.
Hi there Mr. Plunkett. My name is Chris and I was wondering if maybe you could help me a bit. Me and my friends all play COD together and love the series. we play on XBL and use it as a social platform to hang out and catch up, since we are spread throughout the states and England.
The hacking in the COD series is getting to the point that we are all on the verge of boycotting any future release from the companies involved. World at War is virtually unplayable now due to hackers. MW2 is close to the same, and Black Ops is getting there now as well.
last night we were playing and this person, "o JuSt 2 Fly o" was hacking the game so bad! I recorded the game on my cell phone and posted it on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sryj2bTpnYA) as well as my little website (http://ccampbell23.com/wpblog/archives/766)
this is getting out of control, and we need it to stop! As it stands right now, I want to demand a full refund for World at War including all map packs! I know these companies could care less what I think or say, but that seems to be the problem! I have about 50 people who think the same way i do and are almost more upset about this than me!
The other problem is, since we never hear anything directly from the people responsible, namely the companies involved in creating and maintaining these games... then we are left to form our own ideas and opinions about what is going on, and they are not very favorable to the companies and employees at all!
I can deal with little kids being ignorant and disrespectful over XBL while playing the games... some person yelling at us or saying terrible racist things for no reason other than they feel a sense of entitlement and anonymity. Since they are not in front of someone who would knock them to the floor for what they say, it seems to be alright. Headset heroes are not the real issue. I can take what they say with a grain of salt, and go on to destroy their team in the next match. What is ruining this whole game series and the companies (former) good name is the ability to hack the game on a platform that SHOULD be hack free, for the most part.
What is the best way to go about voicing our collective opinions in the most productive way? Is it emailing those responsible, or just posting in forums, and different websites?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I thank you for your time. I don't want to be annoying or seem pathetic for crying about a "game" but since I and my friends have spent a TON of money on this whole thing, I don't think it is at all unreasonable to demand some damn respect from the companies getting richer and richer off us.
Thank you for taking down that article re: The guy with Pokeball modifications in his arm. I hope it's because you realised that it was more than a little harsh.
I won't go on, as i voiced my opinions politely within the article, and they will disappear along with it, fair enough, but i thought it was a shame to read such a thing from you.
Business as usual now anyway, i guess.
I am still shocked by the fact that you suspended me for disagreeing with you. This is a gaming website that encourages user opinions. I guess you were really offended even though I wasn't trying to be offensive. I guess that's how you Australians roll being inbred and all descended from criminals considering that is how your country was started (oh an drunk too I'm sure). Yeah, maybe your ancestors should have mated with the indigenous folk instead of out-casting them. Besides being the worst country on the planet, you in particular are bald. Most likely fat. Probably a virgin even which is quite difficult to accomplish in Australia. I guess as an American, I'm not use to being punished for voicing my opinion. But I'll forgive you since you are a foreign douchebag. And Australian. I've actually been to Sidney. What an expensive shitty waste of time. I wish I went elsewhere. Anyways I hope you fall out of bed and land on the wrong muscle and die. You're everything that is wrong with this world. Oh and you're bald! HAHAHA! Baldy! Sucks doesn't it? Eat a dick. Oh.. Oops I didn't know you liked dicks. Sorry. I guess you aren't a virgin technically because you enjoy having sex with men.
Here is a music video I made using clips from Mass Effect 2. It's a little tribute to what I think should be GOY. The song is "New Babylon" by Soup Or Villainz. [www.youtube.com]
Did you see this? From the same guy that gave you Back to the Future point 'n' click :P

stay away for now!
Hey Plunkett. Not sure if you're a fan, but do you remember posting this rumour about a possible new game in the Oddworld series?
[kotaku.com]
You later confirmed it with this story, explaining that Jeff Braun of Maxis was involved.
[kotaku.com]
And then EA decided to shut a bunch of studios, including Maxis? (you can see where I'm going here)

Finally, Lorne Lanning confirmed that we'd see an "Oddbox" collection on Steam, bringing the formerly Xbox exclusive games to a larger audience.
There has been nothing about Oddworld since then, and I'm sure I'm not the only Kotaku reader who would like to know what's going on with the franchise. Maybe you could put your journalist feelers (tentacles?) out to see whether we should keep our hopes up or bury them deep in a pit of Fleeches? Thanks in advance!
Luke, I commented on your "In Defense of Sports Games" article but I do not hold the coveted star.
I just wanted to reiterate my own reasons for disliking them.
I don't understand them. I don't actively follow many sports and I don't have any reason to believe picking up Madden NFL for example, would TEACH me anything about football.
First Person Shooters have tutorials that tell you how to do the most simple things like "walk" and "look". Why? Well because there is a chance it is someone's first game.
Madden has tutorials that tell you HOW to do something but not what that something actually means.
Give a copy of Madden to someone who has never ever played or watched or read about football and see how far they get.
Then do the same with a FPS. I bet they have more fun with the FPS.
I would love to learn about American Football in an interactive way, like say.. a video game. I will not be reading any wikis or attempt to make sense of my 15 friends all shouting over each other to "teach" me.
I hope you can pass this comment or it's intent to the people who make these games.
Let them know there is at least -1- and I would assume many more, potential fans who just need a little help in the form of interactive tools by which to learn the game.
Thanks!
Matt "Positron" Miller, Lead Designer for City of Heroes, just posted a pair of screenshots on the official City of Heroes message boards, seemingly confirming that the next free expansion to the game (after the one currently in testing) will include the ability to customize your character's powers, or at least the colors of them. This is kind of a big deal, as the static powers have been a sticking point for many members of the community since launch.

The screenshots show a number of Fire powers, typically orange, in blue and purple.
