99.7% of steam users aren't anything like "gimperial", so a spotlight on a rare ridiculous user doesn't really make me question the safety of the stuff I "own" on steam. Bottomline: if you kick a bear in the mouth and runaway, don't be surprised if it ends up eating you slowly in front of your wife and kids at your next picnic.
i get 5 ping on a lot of servers. (I'm in Seattle) Peeps be wondering why its so low, and I say idunno. and then i kill them. He could just live close (or in) a major city where the server is located.
at any rate, I want to have my own one-of-a-kind-hat-thingy!
Crash Bandicoot, Patapon, Pixeljunk characters, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, damn fella! damn! So only Nintendo can pull out 5th string pokemans and uninteresting non-villians like King Dedede? You think Sony has no business making a mascot fighter? get real, nosebleed. Its all okay. leave the fanboy-ism on the tether-ball court.
They wouldn't be doing it unless they knew they had a depth chart. right?
Also, I hope its like smash brothers, not street fighter. its hard to set yourself a part from arcade fighters these days. Street fighter and MavelvCapcom and Mortal Kombat all bleed together these days. not to mention Soul Caliber is coming back? yawn!
If its a Smash Brothers clone with 4 player online, it'll be a hit for sure. There's just nothing like that out there right now. SSBB feels like it came out decades ago. People would love a sony version.
This doesn't need multiplayer. the people who'll play Dark Souls are the same people who will play all those games you listed. This game is like hiking through a jungle while working on your PHD thesis. Its not intended to be a breezy CO-OP. You're suppose to feel alone, back up against the wall and worthless among the monsters you face. CO-OP would only give you a semblance of hope and support on your journey.
Dark Souls says "fuck that noise. you're on your own, bitch. Your BBF can't get you out of this one, Brosif."
And THAT is why a customer would want Dark Souls. The simple fact that its you against such an impossible task right out of the gate. No mics, no match making, no xbox live.
It dares you to "come at me bro".
if you don't have time for it, that's your problem, not the game's.
Oh Internet, I love you. That's a wildly generalized statement. trollfeeding, here i go!
The fact that there are 4 major DOTA style games out today (LOL, DOTA, HON, Bloodline Champions) that are each only GROWING in popularity makes your comment seem a little silly, don't you think? Like it or not, there's something to the "genre". I love how putting things in "quotes" makes it pejorative. /clevergirl. LOL alone is ranking in crazy numbers of players... There's obviously a desire out there. I don't really see the MAJOR draw, as there's not much game to it. I enjoy it because you can whip up a quick game or two in under an hour and it ends, unlike a RTS or FPS where gaming can stretch on for 3 hours and you wonder where the time went. Its a quick bite sized genre, but each gamer takes away what they want from whatever they play-
Like everything in life.
Just because you're not into it doesn't mean that there is "nothing interesting about this "genre".
That's like saying "I hate the color blue. blue is SO uninteresting as a 'color'. gag."
How dumb does that statement sound? ;)
I don't like racing games or sports games, but I would never say that those genres are interesting to the people who like them. If they weren't interesting, they would flat out fail and dry up.
a-splain yourself, bro, or retract your gamer-card, please!
Well, its Valve for one. They don't make horrible games. While it'll have the same gameplay that this genre is known for, I think we should all expect some very valve-like twists to make this fresh and compelling. Steam integration, in-game store, item trading/collecting... It'll all be in there.
WRONG. WRONG WRONG. To use HBOGO, you need to log in through your Cable provider. THAT is how they know YOU are YOu. Not thru your DNA, or cell-phone trianulation, or IP, or your mother's maiden name.
Go try to log in right now and find out, guys!
To log in, you need to pick the provider you've got HBO with, then put in your ID and password associated with sad provider. this isn't an IP thing, this is a Cable contract thing. If Comcast and said "yes" then HBOGo says "come on I, sexy vampire times you can has!" If, say, Time Warner or Frontier has a stick up their bum and doesn't want peeps to have sexy vampires, it says "sorry bro, you can not has. your provider is uptight"
take off your tin-foil hat, dude.
The reason it is like this is so that A: your cable provider has contracted funny-stuff with HBO and B: that you are a proven HBO subscriber. This way HBO doesn't have to touch the accounting aspects of HBOGO, if you pay for HBO already, you get HBOGO if your cable provider has agreed to terms.
nope, im cool. its all attached to your username. if a HDD fails or a console dies, i just re-download it to each and every computer or console I desire. We're good! We don't need BC because we all have the old consoles anyway, or can ebay em for cheap. Or re-buy the classics when they get released as downloadable titles. pish posh split spot. pass the wavy gravy and bring on some tasty digital downloads. The term "physical copy" is going the way of the pager and typewriter. Its cheaper for a company to invest in server farms and bandwidth then it is to produce, distribute and lose percentages to your Targets, Walmarts and Gamestops. Its all about the bottomline, daddy-o.
When the Steam cloud crashes down in a firey pixelstorm, i will gladly eat crow, but I say my friend i say... that day isn't happening. Rapture shall happen first, I do believe. EMBRACE the CLOUD! Love the CLOUD, It loves you!
*screams and runs off into a grassy field full of downloadable content raining from the heavens*
eff retail. I haven't bought a boxed game for my PC in 10 years. Consoles will have beefy marketplaces like Steam for the next generation. The amount of wasted cost associated with brick-and-mortars today is crazy when most consumers can easily download the video game bits, bytes and intertrons directly to your HDD whilst netflixing or hula-ing... PROGRESS!
Lasers, Fog Machines, Glitter, and S&M outfits screams out to me that she's hiding something and its pretty clear. She's an entertainer for sure, but don't mistake that for actual musical ability. She's average at best only given more credit because she can play the piano while she's dressed like a pinata with her hair on fire. That's not talent. She is the musical equivalent to Jackass.
She's "look what I can do" for the "look at the crazy shit I'm into" Generation.
She's not nearly as talented as other women in her genre and whom everyone seems to compare her to. If a singer who would qualify themselves as talented finds it hard to stand on stage and just PERFORM in a single solitary spot light you've succeeded in only one thing. Proving that you've gotta hide behind a gimmick to give fans a good show. She can sing, but so can a lot of people. The only thing she's great at is being weird and over loading your senses. Don't mistake that as you being a fan. Its a trap after all. Lady Gaga can not keep this act up forever. See Madonna, Kiss, Prince for crazy off the wall shit for shit's sake. While they are famous, I don't think anyone would say they're especially great singers. (Prince fans also like dog whistles, so they're vote is moot. or should i say mute? literately.)
If they're doing more Gaga, it must mean that it sold well. You can like whatever you wanna like, but understand that it might not be as popular as something else. Harmonix stated that while "everyone" screams for more muse, there's just has many people screaming for other bands and genres.
World not revolve around you and your do not want cat. sorry.
and this comes from someone who ALSO eye-rolled the new Lady Gaga news.
just gotta deal with it, guy. you have 2700+ tracks to choose from. if all you're into is a couple bands, rock band isn't for you. rock band is about experiencing and exploring music as a whole.
Hahahaha! Those guys sound like a lot of fun. "and i hate myself for ever." good stuff. gamers through and through. bisexuals at trouble. I heard they have massive combo breakers.
Dance Central is a pretty amazing game and a great display of the technology. Shows off the Kinetic better than Microsoft ever could. All it needs is strong weekly DLC and its golden. Its a fun party game, but even after playing it 4 or 5 nights so far, the songs get old. $3 for a song isn't much if its a song that you really like and it comes with 3 difficulty modes- AND can be mixed into other songs for challenges...
Its a great first start, but I can't wait for the "Rock Band 3" version of Dance Central; the version that puts every other dancing and singing game to shame and becomes the NEW standard.
@Samakar: Easily in the top 10 plays of all time. best play in 2010, period. It also shut every mouth that was squawkin' about a losing record team being able to play in the post season. If they suck, they suck. They won their division, you still have to play them. If you think they're awful, show your mettle and beat them. The saints read too much of their own press that week and got embarassed. good. Playoffs are fine the way they are. And here we have a 6th seed coming into the super bowl, and they're FAVORED.
haters gonna hate. Footballs football. play the game leave the shit talk on the internet. If you think you're so hot, prove it!
First game was really really hard. I haven't got very far, but wow its tough. Very little direction as to what to do or where to go, unforgiving, punishing and demanding of calculated strikes and planning. Its a hard game, but refreshing to see such a hard game today. Nothing even comes close to this title. You can say its hard for hard's sake, but considering we have so many games that hold your hand today, that's fine by me.
every little skirmish feels like an accomplishment. You can't say that about any other game released in the last couple years. Demon's Souls is a thick beast of a game.
