Did you ever play the game on a higher difficulty setting? I thought the game was so-so the first time through then I played it again on a higher difficulty and it was so much more fun! (Much more exciting). I had to conserve ammo, run more often than fight, and be tactical with using light/the environment to my advantage.
At first, I thought it was just another Zombie game, but when I found out who was behind it- Naughty Dog- I am so stoked. It looks to have all of the emotional pull of the Dead Island trailer but made by competent story tellers. Oh and Ellen Page!
I enjoyed it but if you do play it, make sure to play it on the hard (or nightmare?) setting. It's a pretty sweet game. I played it through twice and I almost never do that.
"also the fact that most PS3 multiplayer games don't support multiple account sign-in and progression is a big problem for us. when we play a game and do something together that is epic, we don't dig the idea of only one of us getting the credit or having to repeat that feat in a different playthrough for the other person.
Just curious about this point. What do you mean by this? If you play any single player game on 360, ONLY ONE person gets the achievements and often, you would have to repeat it in a different playthrough. I know because I've had 'arguments' about who's going to get the Alan Wake Achievement points (ended up playing through it twice anyway) ect. With PS3 you can import and export saves regardless of the account.
That may be but I'm just pointing out that his argument about the currency system is fallacious:
"I can't say the same for PSN. with PSN being dollar-to-dollar, I only get games on "sale"(and that is whatever they put on sale, not what I pick for myself) for less than the original price and if I want a consistent source free games I have to pay their subscription fee, and keep paying it if I want those games to remain free. my free XBL games can't be taken away from me if I decide to go silver."
It's a scheme clearly designed to make profit, not benefit the users. If people really wanted to save money, they would stop giving it to Microsoft. I can't believe they were able to raise the price of Live by $10 and people are still somehow justifying it.
Nah, the PS3 doesn't come with a headset. I've found it far more quiet on PSN than it has been on the 360. Having a tax to prevent kids from playing just seems silly.
No, you're argument makes zero sense. Essentially, you're saying that it all balances out because you take part in promotions, deals, savings, and the sum of that counter balances the fee that you have to pay. It's a tenuous connection at best; just because you win a couple of contests doesn't justify you paying anything at all. Those things are "bonuses," you are suppose to come out ahead, not break even. If you didn't have to pay, you would have more than if you did. From your logic, because PSN is free, I automatically come out $60 ahead. So essentially, because it's free I can use that money and buy $60 worth of PSN goods and it still counts as "free" and it won't disappear. Think about that for a second. If you didn't have to pay for Gold, you could buy $60 (or, at the very least, $30-$40) worth of XBLA games. That's a lot of money. Further,
I save far more than the cost of my xbl membership every year in discounted purchases made with MSpoints. that currency system basically makes XBL free for me every year.
That currency system is no different than the one on PSN in terms of savings (in fact, with the amount of "wasted points," arguably, it's worse) . I've shown you that. So who really comes out ahead?
I'll miss you my old friend, but your noisy ass fan, the constant threat of you dying, and the price I have to pay to be bombarded by ads and use Netflix has left me seeking greener pastures.
They sometimes sell PSN cards discounted as well. In fact, whenever I see the MS points go on sale at retail, the PSN cards are also on sale.
"it's basically free for me every year"
It IS free on the PS3. I didn't get Gold this year (after buying it for the last 4 years), bought a PS3 and I could not be happier. My gf and I will now save $120 a year (she has a PS3 too) on Gold fees. I bought my PS3 for $199. How insane is that?
