Still no PC demo, still no care.
Sounds neat. I still pine for Shadow Complex 2, though.
Well, you asked "When are dues paid?", so I answered that question. Depending on the offense, sometimes never. And in this case, certainly not within just a couple years.
Sometimes you can screw up so badly, you never regain everything that you lost. There are all kinds of jobs that convicted felons cannot hold, for example. And when your screwup is so public and abhorrent, your image will be tarnished almost irreversibly. He might be able to overcome that after many, many, many years of diligence. But it hasn't even been two years. Most people still just remember him as the dog-killer. It hasn't been long enough to change that. That's what people will see when they see him on the cover of the game, and that is why he will not be on the cover of the game.
The thing is, not choosing him to be on the cover is hardly a punishment. How many people play in the NFL? And only one gets chosen each year. Are the others all being punished? Are they being denied something that they have some sort of right to have? No. Being the cover athlete is an honor and a privilege, not a right.

Whatever you might say about how well he's doing now, how hard he's working, whatever, I'm sure there are other athletes who have earned this kind of honor, and who do not have a well-known history with a vicious and despicable crime. Whatever Vicks may or may not be doing to move on, the fact remains that he does in fact have that in his past, and he is very strongly associated with it. Choosing him as a cover athlete would be highly inappropriate, because it could be seen as almost an endorsement of what he did. If somebody sees him on the cover, they're not going to think "Oh, they chose that man who overcame his past through hard work and dedication to be on their cover. How nice!" They will think "They chose that dog-killer for their cover? What a sick bunch of assholes!" That may not be fair, but you can't deny that that's how most people would see it. That's surely not the image they want to present, so they should not have him on the cover.

All that being said, I guarantee you they already know this and he will not be on the cover. This is just the latest in their marketing department's long history of stirred-up controversy.
Because they peed on his rug, man! It really brought the room together.
It's not that I dislike co-op or anything, I just don't have too many friends who have the game, our schedules don't match up too well, and I loathe playing multiplayer with random people. Too many assholes out there.
I play it solo a hell of a lot more than I do co-op. And the core gameplay is good enough that the disappointments (retarded ending of original game, Mad Moxxi DLC, etc.) don't sting so bad.
Yeah, and I'm sure you could come up with a laundry list of other things in the game that are not 100% true to real life either. Sometimes it's better to sacrifice a little bit of realism to make the gameplay better. And making it so the female characters have only one possible pairing to fight, well, that's stupid and boring, and obviously detrimental to gameplay. Realism should be kicked to the curb on this one. Not that I would ever play this game either way, but still...
No thanks, watching people hit each other really isn't my thing. And anyway, I was talking about the game, not real life. I was responding to this: "There's lots of brutality in it, there are breaking bones, and we don't want this game to look bad by the fact a guy beats me up in the game, and breaks my leg." Fighting games have had men and women fighting each other since, well... pretty much forever. Male characters have done all kinds of brutal things to the female ones in those games (MK fatalities, anyone?), but it wasn't any kind of gender issue, because the brutality was both dished out and received by both the male and female characters. I can't fathom how this is any different.
Ummm... Wouldn't the women fighters just as easily be able to break the mens' bones and stuff? What's the fucking issue here?
Atom Zombie Smasher. Way more fun than it deserves to be. ;)
Nope, the best-selling mobile platform does not deserve the attention of the Apple-lovers who run the show here. Or of app developers, it often seems... So sick of seeing iOS-only shit.
I guess I'll just sit here and hope that someday, games like Okami and Valkyria Chronicles will get real sequels instead of handheld shit. Hey, Sega! Capcom! I have the money you want, if you have the games I want. Just sayin'...
Great, now I have Ice.mp3 stuck in my head.
Not my bag of chips anyway, but isn't this a classic bait-and-switch?
Coming from the company who brought us the "blue ocean" strategy of churning out poor-quality games for the masses who wouldn't know any better, while ignoring their existing base of more dedicated, "hardcore" gamers, I find this a bit ironic. It sounds like the only difference is, Nintendo didn't drop their prices to match the quality of their games... :/
Angry Birds has an Android version. This is apparently iOS-only. So, no. It's not the Angry Birds of 2011.
I've got a half-gallon milk bottle (like a glass one, not a plastic jug) that I have been using as a bank. I placed it on my headboard, and just kept adding change, never moving it. It's about 3/4 full atm. Anyway, the other day, I needed to move it for some reason. Holy fucking hell, I was not expecting it to be that heavy. Took both hands, and was actually quite a strain, given the way I had to lean over my bed. A smaller container, or at least a better location, would definitely have been a good idea.
