@JabbaB: Uh, no they don't. Final Fantasy games sell a shitload at release and shortly after. Most of the sales come within the first month. This is not a new phenomenon. It's the way that the series has sold in Japan for quite some time. And the numbers that the games pull are still very large.
@(Zombie) WDYC: What's obvious about their actions? Do you have documents and interviews that give you solid proof, or are you just going to paint them as turning a blind eye because they're a large corporation?
When Jason Chen's home was raided by the authorities following the iPhone leak, Gawker Media defended Chen by claiming that his home office should be treated as a journalist's office, and thus Jason is a journalist.
Kotaku and Gizmodo are both Gawker Media sites, and thus anything that Gawker says in defense of one should also apply to the other. If Gizmodo's staff is composed of "journalists," then so is Kotaku. Hiding behind the term "blogger" as a defense has become irrelevant.
"Japanese business daily Nikkei reports now that Nintendo, concerned over the conditions (or the public relations disaster surrounding the conditions, take your pick)"
Great sensationalizing right there. The editorial quip really wasn't necessary.
Howard the Duck featured awkward interspecies sexual tension between a human and an anthropomorphic animal before Sonic the Hedgehog made it cool in 2006.
