I don't have any gentlemen to bet. : ( You know, I tried to look up sales just now since I believe it couldn't have done well here, but sure enough I see articles noting that a Badman 2 is in production. Maybe (hopefully) I'll be wrong here, but it's hard for me to really feel certain in either scenario without seeing some sales data. Personally, I have trouble believing there are 1,000 people in the US who even know what the game is, which is why I have a hard time believing it'll happen.

I think the Badman preorder initiative will be successful. However, we can wait and see which of us is correct. Would you like to place a gentleman's bet?

I never have a problem reading colored posts, so I guess that particular ignorance is a factor. Now, the colored font is just an easier way for me to find my post amidst the other posts.

I'll consider it. The vast array of colors possible is quite interesting. Regardless, I respect your opinion, so don't take my possible continuation of colored posting as an offense to you.

Assigning a group of people more importance over other people based upon current requirements and membership is a bad, bad thing. It took a rather large chunk of people and let them have abilities to control and manipulate posts of another group of people, good or bad. Not my thing to see happen.

I would rather live in obscurity than be front paged for mediocrity, as well. Whats say I just want to make a throwaway comment of 'Cant wait to play this' on an article? Bam, there it is, front page. Just because of my star. Boo. I dont care if thats second page or third page or whatever. But if it ends up front page, its just a random occurrence. Do it with a star, its always front page, and hardly looks like the conversation starting material that seems to be expected (as per reads by eds).

And I find it unfathomable that others can't even understand why non starred commenters might feel slighted or unimpressed with this move.

The hope is that the large number of star members will be on the ball and promote good comments, no matter the page. Thats a good thing, I guess.

But its still a huge rift opened up between people.

Hey man, I got nothing against stars or star people. And the more people that recognize that the only true star is the red one, the better. :P I really, truly do believe what I say, people pleasing or not. I can do without a little gold star. My red one doesn't give my any powers besides that of super-communism.
