Oh, and how will you do a duck-jump, keeping that duck in the air and moving left and right? I guess if everyone had two touch pads, but even then, I can't imagine it being more efficient and accurate than the decades-old D-pad.
1) With a mouse, the click and move can be simultaneously used. With a trackpad, you have have to alternate. Sorry, I'm a huge fan of being able to use multiple buttons simultaneously as it give me ultimate control of what is going on in a game. In your mario scenario, you have to let go of mario's run in order to jump etc.

2) I doubt you could make a trackpad more accurate at pointing at small objects (Diablo, Starcraft) and with the same speed.

3) You mentioned that users can pinch 3 times, spread etc. The problem with this is that users will have trouble finding their way through your "tree" of an interface. Currently, a game may have an "E" on an icon which tells them that if they press "E" on the keyboard, that icon will be activated. With your complex movements that you're proposing, it sounds like users will have to do a lot of experimentation and/or read the book before playing.

My thoughts exactly. Sorry, Paul, we still KNOW you're a douche.
Here's an amazing revelation: In General, men are attracted to women, and women are attracted to men.

Male geeks often poke fun of and shudder at the thought of "Twilight", and females have a similar reaction when they see the things in male geekdom.

If females want to "get their say" in geekdom, well, pick up a pen, mouse, or whatever, and start creating. Male geekdom wasn't built overnight. In fact, it's been going on for several decades. Ladies, you're really just starting out, so of course your geekdom world isn't as fully fleshed out as ours.

There is possibly room for neutral geekdom, but would a fusion of what the two sexes want work? Could you combine the shirtless, sexy men of Twilight with the scantily clad women of male fantasies and get both sexes to buy into the product? I'm thinking no, but there are plenty of people out there who think we don't need to differentiate between the two sexes. ::sarcasm:: They both want exactly the same thing: a pengina. Yes, a pengina.

Seriously though, women and men are just different. While they might be able to like the same things to a certain degree, at some point there are going to be differences, and therein lies the problem.

Having seen around 6 hours of streams from Japanese players, this game is huge, and no Demon's Souls fan should be disappointed. There are so many subtle (good) changes that I can't list them all here. I recommend searching the gamefaqs board if you want more detailed information.
This is weird, is Atlus trying to buy some goodwill, or something? They were planning on shutting it down only one year after the game came out, despite its success.
Try setting the slider to the middle for Pilotwings. I didn't have trouble having it on full for Street Fighter and Steel Diver.
Feminists sure like to throw the word misogynist around. Here's the word we men need to use more often: "misandrist" = man hater.

Are you suggesting that there aren't any women who use chivalry etc. to their advantage? Do feminists support chivalry?
You may not want special treatment, but there are plenty of women who use their sex to their advantage.
On a related note, be careful about hooking your PS3 to your PC to exchange files. My friend had this option on, and it totally screwed up his connection on his PS3. Had to reset a bunch of stuff etc. I think the option is called media server, or something.
I want to see larger store-exclusive items. For example:

Walmart: the ability to jump and slide on things.
Amazon: the ability to shoot and climb.
GameStop: the ability to aim.
Best Buy: the ability to upgrade powers.

And if you buy all 4 editions, you can combine all of those abilities!

Now that's POWER TO THE PLAYERS!!
Here's what's broken in the DA console games, as far as I know:

I cannot pause the game and direct all of my characters to a certain area so that I can throw down some oil, and then light it up with fire to burn some enemies.
You can only control one character at a time, and when you pause the game, you can only give them actions to do (not including a "go there" function).

Why the f*ck can't I get a top-down view on the console version? There's even USB ports that mice can be plugged into (not that you absolutely need mice for that)!
It's coop, not versus. If you buy the PS3 version, you essentially get the Mac and PC version with it.

Also, the PS3 version will be updated regularly, the same as the PC version. The Xbox 360 one will not be.
If a person never clicks on the ad, does the site still get money? I really don't know how site revenue works.
As painful as it is not to have Starcraft: Ghost come out, and to have to wait longer for Diablo 3, I like that Blizzard is committed to the quality of their titles, including updating their games long after launch. I like the way diablo is now:

Is the innovative new digital platform separate from what they're doing in China? Are there changes coming to the rest of the world, or what?
Well, according to this site, Kotaku and the other gawker sites were changed because Nick Denton is in a bet with some other rich guy. It's nice to know he has money to throw around and bet on things he doesn't care about. Hey, Nick, how about selling Gawker to someone who actually cares about the readers?

Is it okay to be hanging out with the people whose games you're reviewing?
I agree. The later bosses leading up to the last were harder.
I did this with FFXIII. I kept looking into the game, because the reviews were so mixed on it. I finally just started watching vids, saw the ending, was not impressed, and then was glad I hadn't bought/played it myself.

DKCR is a great game though. Some games that rely more on gameplay should be played. Games focused solely on story can be youtube'd.
