Hey!

Yay, my first follower. Nothings better than that first pair of hands on your butt to start the conga line.

Guess you like old school stuff then. Definitely give Aquaria a try if you haven't done so yet, even if you're not a fan of metroidvanias since it has its own unique charm.

A crossbreed of ecco and sotn should give you a hint.

Just keep in mind it starts off quite slow and it's a while until you even get your first attack ability. I enjoyed just exploring during that first part but perhaps you differ.

Watch the vids. It's like our 16bit console days live on via PC. I'm a sucker for pixel art :P

Princess Crown was an amazing Saturn game (unless I confuse the names), you should try out. I guess there's nothing like it on PC (though you can probably use it to emulate the Saturn original if you can't find it).

Maybe try The Spirit Engine, it's a little freeware game which is also a side scrolling RPG of sorts, though the combat is not in fighting game style, rather an interesting twist on the usual JRPG timer based attacks with a queueing system.

A commercial sequel which should offer more depth and story is in the works:

The freeware original can be downloaded from the sequel's downloads page. It's a bit old and may be glitchy in some ways but it should get you excited for the possibilities of a commercial sequel. Yay for indies again.

what's good? Sorry this is late but I keep forgetting to check my profile on Kotaku for messages. the splitfish is awesome but understand, I'm using the PS2 splitfish with a PS3/ps2 joystick converter. With that in mind, it is so much better than dual analog that I refuse to play any FPS unless it's with Wiimote+chuck, Mouse and keyboard or the splitfish. Gamestop may have some lying around that you can pick up for cheap...just saw one last week actually but it was the PS2 version. The ps3 version has bluetooth support and I believe it supports motion and force feedback.

I've used it with Resistance, UT3 and Metal Gear Online. It works great with all of them. Add me on PS3 and if you want to talk more about it, send me a message and we can chat it up.

Hello fellow Ottawan,
after lurking your comments/messages, I saw you were interested in Eternal Sonata for the 360.

Well, it's coming for the PS3, so - yay! excitement!

Cool...you seem like a level headed dude also. I think this year will be the year I feel like you have for the past 2. Maybe GoD will sway me to the PS3...but if Otogi 3 comes out....there will be no need. Enjoy your games and I will see you around!

GameraTheGreat on Mar 12, 2008

That wasn't evident in what you wrote (and I re-read it) nor did it seem implied. I responded the way I did to you because it seemed like you were purposely trying to stir up the thread....and from the looks of the posts responding directly to you....you did. Now, if I am understanding what you've left on my page correctly....you won't buy any games on the PS3 that aren't exclusive to the system? Really? Fine, your choice. In so much as a larger number of "quality" exclusives....quality to who? You, as PS3 owner? A bit subjective there....not everyone has your tastes in games and as it stands…people seem to be having a good time on the 360...and I would guess that includes you also since you go to your friend's crib to play xbox titles...try not to playa' hate and of course I will do the same...
