Fired up NES Ninja Gaiden several weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to see I can still walk right through it until literally the last section of the last level where I had to repeat several times. That game is sickeningly tough, but it's strange to see how playing that game so much left the muscle memory (or whatever you want to call it) burned into me even to this day.
Oh, and Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II had the best NES music ever.
This is fine with me. It's really tiring hearing people complain about Kinect. I don't own one and I don't ever plan on owning one, but they are definitely improving as far as what they can do with the technology, and by the time the next consoles show up and Kinect 2 (or whatever) is launched, it may well be something I'm interested in buying.
They can add Kinect to every f'ing game on the system for all I care - as long as I can still use a controller, I don't see a valid reason why anyone can complain. Mass Effect 3 isn't going to be any less awesome just because there's optional Kinect features.
Still wish Razor Ramon could have had a cameo in one of those videos. Just a quick walk on with a "...what the hell are you doing, chico?" or something.
I do appreciate the fairly reasonable price...7 costumes + 3 fatalities for 400 points (5 bucks) is more palatable than what we got with similar content for SFIV.
That said, being in a bundle is fucking annoying. I bought a Collector's Edition (for the bookends and art book) and Tournament Edition (for the stick) so I already have three of them - Ermac, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. Once again, the most supportive fans get dicked over. They could have split this content into separate downloads, or at least a male pack (Ermac, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Scorpion) and female pack (Kitana, Mileena, Jade) and just charged $2.50 each.
I'm a sucker for pretty much everything Mortal Kombat (this picture was what I wound up with on April 19th) - [i54.tinypic.com] - but I ain't buying this crap unless it's discounted.
First wrestling show I ever attended was Wrestlemania 3 (Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat) when I was 7 years old. Incredible luck that the first time I went to a show it wound up having one of the greatest matches of all time, and definitely the greatest match of that era of the WWF.
One of the best ever. Some were better in ring, some were better in promos, but very few were that good at BOTH. Only Flair and Austin come to mind - and I preferred Savage's insanity to Flair's cockiness and Austin's trash-talking.
It's not just a fucking "network outage." I guess you missed the part where millions of people had their information compromised and now need to keep an eye on their credit card statements for fraudulent activity.
"Were this Xbox Live, we'd likely be seeing free months tacked onto folks' Gold subscriptions left and right."
No we wouldn't. Completely disagree. Microsoft fucking sucks at making good on their outages. Was it two years ago around Xmas where it was down for an extended period? All they did when that was finally resolved was give us a POS XBLA game (Undertow), and even that was only after people complained long and loud.
I didn't want a game, I wanted to be credited for the time that Live was down for. Tack 3 days onto my subscription or whatever. I want what I paid for.
Fortunately Live has been pretty good since then (I'd hope so since they jacked up the price), but no way in hell MS would give out "free months" for an outage.
Good. Honestly, I'm dreading the day the next generation hits. I'm still very satisfied with what we've got now, and honestly couldn't care less what Nintendo does. They're so far off the map for me at this point.
Imagine the shitstorm if MS and Sony somehow can't come up with a way to let people transfer all the DLC they've bought to the new system.
