"At least they counter-acted Yoda's wee size with Ivy's boobs. Fair match, that one."

  • KIRBYSIM commented on Street Fighter IV Playable At GDC

"In last week's Famitsu SFIV feature, the producer mentioned in an interview that they were (if I didn't read wrongly) aiming to debut some new, unannounced characters for the game in the AOU build."

  • KIRBYSIM commented on Was Square Enix Terrified of Own Original IP?

" @Witzbold: Yeah, you're right. I don't want to write a freaking preview for the fellows who are vaguely interested, since I figured the only peeps who'd make it all the way through my post are people who have some understanding of how the game works - that you equip badges to use skills; that battles take place on two screens at once, etc."

" @ChibiKyKiske: Just to add on to what the others have already said about Subarashiki's combat: I think it feels weird at first, because you can never pay attention to both screens simultaneously. But once I amassed a decent array of badges (around 10 badges or so, which is not that many considering there's more than 100), I started to realise how flexible and tactical the fighting can get. Since the main character, Neku, who fights on the bottom screen, is the one who gets to use all these different fanciful badge abilities that may require different methods of input with the stylus (stroking, tapping, pushing, dragging, rubbing, etc), you'd think that you're supposed to focus on playing as him all the time. But then I realised that if you equip ability badges that utilise the same method of input, like tapping for that badges that shoot pellets, dropping gravity stones and throwing boomerangs, the game cycles through these abilities one at a time. So what I do most often now is to take a quick glance of the bottom screen, note where the enemies generally are, and blindly tap on the bottom screen while I focus on Shiki on the upper screen. I'd check on the bottom screen every now and then, but my priority is to make sure Shiki on the upper screen gets her super move out fast (I don't equip healing badges, so this is my only means to keep my health bar in check) and make sure she defends or evades when enemies attack. To further complement my strategy, I give Neku clothes that confer lots of defensive strength, and Shiki stuff that improves her attack strength."

  • KIRBYSIM commented on Bashcraft's 360 Finally Dies (How's Yours?)

" I have a Japanese launch 360 too, and aside from a few red-ring errors every now and then where the system would refuse to start (usually turning it off and then back on would solve the problem), I've not had any major problems. My room's TV console is pretty small, so I let the 360 stand upright on the floor, which I'm guessing gives it plenty of breathing space, even if the instruction manual advises against placing it on the cold, hard floor directly. Most of my friends who bought the same batch of Japanese launch 360s still have theirs working - to my knowledge, all except for one or two."

" Also included: extra cooling fans. I don't understand MS just can't come clean with the added cooling solution."

  • KIRBYSIM commented on Tokyo Game Show Exhibitor List

" I'm not sure where Bashcraft got this list of publishers from, but it COULD be an older list that's been kicking around the internet for a while. Or at least I hope so."
