"Red Alert became camp because Westwood wanted it too, the Westwood team was still at EA when RA2 was made.
Red Alert being hammed up & camp is better than trying to treat it serious as the whole premise is completely ludicrous."
"Does look a touch sharper, in all likelihood they probably just enabled anisotropic filtering (4xAF or 8xAF) which is why the textures are cleaner/sharper."
"I wonder what George Lucas does with all his Star Wars money, obviously it's not used for anything new or creative just more Star Wars but does he get his rocks off throwing money into an incinerator or what ?"
"Well the quality of the port depends on how well source has been tweaked for the Xbox 360 since the Orange Box, which was just about playable on the Xbox all in all it was a poor port given the levels of graphics in those games.
If the Xbox 360 version of Left4Dead is getting a good treatment and not just a crappy PC port like the Orange Box then a PS3 version will benefit from that.
However I haven't seen or read about Valve showing off the Xbox 360 version of Left4Dead so it doesn't fill me with confidence."
"Well Todd pretty much hit the nail on the head, agree 100%.
Blizzard/Valve earn their money by being the PC fanboys darling but the market can only afford a small number of those, if things were take a turn for the worse economics wise for either company they would be singing a different tune when it comes to multi-platform games."
"Honestly is anyone that surprised Valve are a Microsoft shop in every way but name only.
* Valve was founded by ex-Microsoft employees.
* Valves source technology is built on Microsoft foundations like Direct3D.
* Valves digital distribution service is for Microsoft Windows only.
* Valve only makes games (in-house) for Microsoft platforms like Windows & the Xbox 360.
They diss other platforms like Apple OSX, Sony Playstation."
"The Bourne game tanked at retail and Activision has the Bond license to which it can cash in on so it's parting ways with the franchise.
There were supposed to be more games in the pipeline for the Bourne series if it were a success but after it's failure Activision saw it as a dud."
"Well hopefully some other publisher will pick the game up so that could be a silver lining to this Activision cloud.
Also Massive Entertainment (Ground Control, World in Conflict) who were bought by Sierra so are an internal studio facing sale/axe have some semi-positive news;

"I really hope Brutal Legend finds another publisher, Double Fine have the worst luck when it comes to them.
Also I worry for Massive Entertainment, the RTS maker who made Ground Control, World in Conflict I really liked their games but seeing as Activision have Blizzard now it was unlikely they would survive."
"Some companies cannot afford to always follow that mantra, Blizzard has a golden goose in the form of WoW that allows them to operate like that & Autumn Moon are a tiny outfit who just expanded to 11 people.
Anyway it's great to hear that the game is nearly finished and a sequel is already in the works, this is good news for adventure games fans as only the (now ex) Lucasarts crew ever knew how to do it properly.
Mystery game he mentions at the end, I'm betting secret of monkey island style game."
"Well that's a kick in the nuts for Somethings Awfuls Lets Play forum probably has something to do with a few bad apples who ruined it.
At least quality wise there is viddler for now but for how long!"
"brieeyeball - "PowerPC Processors are just about equal to an X86 at twice the clockrate"
That is a load of horse manure.
The reason why the Wii cant handle the the same numbers is simply because the hardware CPU+GPU (it's not a RAM issue) is too weak.
The tech gurus at Beyond3D have explain as to why as well;

"Variety weblog has the low down, Bungie are working on a Halo game and non-Halo title but a dispute with Microsoft put the kibosh on both games announcements.

"iD have always been admirers of Jobs from NeXT to Apple I'd say for certain that it is running natively as Carmack a while back was talking about the Mac and how he liked it so much for development (plus iD are doing the iPhone as well)."
