@Papercutninja (tweets as: Frequentlywong): Well, maybe the adoption rate for the WinMo7 phones will pick up when, ya know, the phone actually is released.
People. They're the worst.
@VincentGrey: Apparently Crecente took my star and gave it to you. And I didn't even say that I was against movie reviews on this site. Congrats. Just don't say anything that might upset people...

I'm not completely opposed to Kotaku beginning to do write-ups on movies too, seeing as how Gawker currently does not have a dedicated movie site, but I don't think it should be done by the current Kotaku staff. Maybe bring on another staff writer who can focus solely on movie news and information.
I only say this because with the increasing number of games released every year/month/week it just becomes hard to juggle it all. This was evidenced with the long-overdue review of Demon Souls.
Not that I'm trying to tell you how to do your job, Mr. Crecente, but I think that the site could benefit from both movie information and another staff writer.
@jimmuhpage:
I don't think you owe anyone an apology. His comment was douchey to begin with, so you I don't think there is any need to apologize over semantics :)
@ComplicitOwl:
I think it's because when playing Halo 3 multiplayer there isn't a perpetual, semi-transparent "3" hovering over the on-screen imagery.
If there was, then it would be identical...
@jimmuhpage:
Technically, it's Microsoft's Halo franchise. They own the rights to it, but Bungie has just been the one making it.
Also, there are other Halo franchises out there besides the ones developed by Bungie. Like Halo Wars. It was developed by Ensemble Studios (RIP).
I know you were trying to be sarcastic, but there actually are others.
@Faulpyr:
Ah. Well I'm not too big on RTS games, or even table-top experiences, but for some reason I love me some Settlers of Catan. I was hoping that it actually had some of those elements so that this game would pique my interests. Oh well. The game does look gorgeous, however.
@Cinderblaze:
Yeah, and the two titles are really nothing alike. I mean, except for the fact that you push buttons to interact in a digital environment. That's about it.
This game actually has some 3rd person combat and shooting mechanics, while Heavy Rain is a very narrative-driven experience that relies heavily (pun totally intended) on a series of small, seemingly meaningless decisions to build the overall story.
They're both very unique titles, and both are ones I'm very much looking forward to purchasing.
@Pheermee:
Honestly, that was back when parents had the mindset of, "Oh, it's a video game. It must be innocent and full of whimsy." Only later in life, with my help, did they see that video games can have content that is just as bad - if not worse - than movies and other forms of entertainment. I grew up on NES and SNES, so to go from Mario and Super Metroid to Duke Nukem 3D was different. They knew I was shooting aliens, but didn't know about the language or the nudity. They probably still don't, actually :)
@Pheermee:
Duke Nukem 3D. I was only about 8 years old (waaaaayyyy too young to be playing that game, but it came free with my parents first computer). I hated the idea of walking into darkness and not knowing what was going to be on the other side, so I just didn't. I used the shrink gun and just stepped on aliens over and over. That, and walking up to the dancers and pressing Spacebar.
Yeah, waaaaaayyyyy too young to be playing that game.
@Y-bot:
Acridophobia - It's the fear of grasshoppers. I don't know why, but I hate them so Goddamn much.
Other than that, though, I don't really have a lot of fears. I really enjoy speaking in public and I'm not really afraid of dying. I'm more afraid of not being able to do everything I want to do in my life before I die, than I am of dying itself.
@Zinger314:
Soldier class. Honestly I created a new Biotic character and did okay to start, but Biotics are the worst class to face enemies on Insanity.
I imported my Level 30 Soldier for my second run (first on Insanity) and did get my salad tossed for the first few missions. Just be sure to buy as many upgrades as possible as soon as possible. Go down to the markets on Omega and purchase all that you can. Throughout the story, you will find scans eventually, but just bite the bullet and spend the credits. It will help so much in the long run. Also, Illium is a great place to find weapon, tech and biotic upgrades.
Also, the Viper Sniper Rifle is your best friend. It's so freaking powerful, and is semi-auto with a 12 round clip. Add Inferno ammo to it and watch the fools drop.
If you're going through as a Soldier, I recommend Miranda and Mordin. Get Miranda's Warp up as high as you can, and then choose Heavy Warp. Get Mordin's Incinerate as high as possible too. His Neural Shock is also great to stop advancing enemies and gives you a chance to either retreat or kill them before they get closer. For my bonus ability I chose Barrier, and maxxed it to Heavy Barrier. I've heard that Reave works really well too, though.
Also, hotkeys are your best friend. Use them wisely. Finally, try your best to position your brain-dead teammates outside of any potential firefight and use their abilities. Even though they can't see the enemy, their powers still work. You just won't be able to rely on their firepower, but I found that their abilities are much more valuable than their bullets, plus it saves having to use precious Medi-Gel.
Hope that helps, and good luck. It seems like an impossible task sometimes, but it can be achieved.
