@LedRush: Ah, yes, I see. I fall victim to that one too. It's a sad phenomenon but it makes the industry go 'round.
@LedRush: No one said you have to. If they don't appeal to you, just don't buy them.
@Tzion: Kojima-san doesn't have to make Metal Gear any more.: Well that's where, forgive me if I'm wrong, the infrared sensor comes in to play. And lets be honest, not every game would be able to utilize full 3D tracking.
@RoboticSpacePenguin: Yeah, I think that was the idea. They're better in every way. More handsome, too.
Didn't notice it til my third time watching, but I really like, among the other subtle changes, the slight darkening of the veins as the needle withdraws from his arm. Cool stuff.
@Goes_around_the_world: Here is my understanding. The Spartan-III's are mostly, as you said, orphans whose family has been killed by the Covenant, AND who passed the genetic screening. It's not that all the kids whose parents wer killed by Covies happened to pass the test. I think they used that as an extra bonus criterium, (the whole parents being killed thing) so that the Spartan-III's would have a deeper drive to fight the Covenant, no matter what the cost. But that's just how I think of it. This is one of those things where everyone has to have their own version in their head.
@jokervenom6: Well, unless you count the family he had before he was "taken when he was a kid."
@CosmicElement: It may be hype, but it's damn effective. And I'd go so far as to say that a lot has changed from the original game.
@zackek: Well my best guess has to do with the fact that he is becoming a Spartan-III, in which the process has been very much streamlined, but also many corners were cut. I dunno. Don't wanna get my nerd on too heavily. He did flinch, btw. :)
Creepy, yes, but this looks like a game I may want to play.
@Deanb: Hell, the internet never fails us with FULLY useless crap either!
@Jouen: Yeah, I was gonna say.
@drag: Well spoken, good sir, well spoken indeed
@drag: yeah I was thinking the same thing for a moment there, right until a stray click landed on the image and it got embiggened.
Hot damn, that picture cracks me up every time, even after so long. I never tire of the strange looks I get when I burst out laughing in the middle of class.
that sounds ... incredible! I'm totally going to keep my eye out for this one.
@Tenshigure: You, sir, beat me to the point. Excellent argument. Promotions all around. Bravo.
@rayne117: Yeah, I'm with you. Xbox situations far more complicated than this have been handled much more swiftly and gracefully. It's not that hard, people.
