I think the PS3 ended up costing Sony much more than they'd anticipated, and they were somewhat forced to sell it for a less-than-ideal price. The PS2 found mass appeal only after it reached the $199 price point and below, so I doubt Sony were expecting those PS2 owners to jump on a $600 system. @demonknightinuyasha: Yup, he looks like a pudgy little perv."
