<![CDATA[Comments from FuzyBaffy]]> <![CDATA[Comments from FuzyBaffy]]> <![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Dealzmodo: $700 HP Ultraportable Tablet]]> The touchscreen works perfectly and the pen is even better. If you go to a store and demo it and it isn't working correctly you need to calibrate it once in every viewing position. I haven't needed to recalibrate other than the once. After getting my tx2500 a tablet is the only type of notebook I will ever buy. Flicking around web pages in tablet mode is perfection. And the graphics chip in this beastie is amazing!

]]>
<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Dealzmodo: $700 HP Ultraportable Tablet]]> Just get one if you are wondering about it. It is worth a lot more than what you are paying. You can play everything at low/medium. I would keep a gaming desktop around but is good for a fix on the go or the living room. I would get the 2.1 ghz as it runs a little cooler. 32bit is the way to go as there are problems with 64 bit onenote print to and the dealbreaker for me was not 64bit firefox flash. But the vista liscence is transferable between 64 and 32 so get whatever. Go to tabletpcreviews under the HP forums for a ton of talk about this tablet. Vista search sucks for me, might wanna pause it or disable it.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on AMD's Puma Platform Officially Pounces, But Can It Pwn?]]> I'm just hoping that HP does a quickie refresh on their tz2000z tablet.

I really want it but the screen coating is pretty bad when I saw it in person. I've never seen such a noticeable coating on a touch device. I have a ds with a shitty sticker on the touch screen and it doesn't look anywhere near as bad. I have a n800 and i never removed the peice of plastic they have on the screed, that looks a ton better too.

The battery life with the 8 cell battery isn't my vision of perfection. And the graphics card is crap. If they fix one problem that I have with it I will run to buy one.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on MSI Wind Given 4.5 Out of Five By Laptop Magazine]]> People don't you read about this thing even though you won't be getting it because you really want a nice cheap tablet. The mouse button on one side is left click and the right is right click. It is just one annoyingly big button where you can't always tell what you are clicking. This MSI wind looks insane. Get the cheap 399 linux one stick one of those button bluetooth devices and you have the ultimate machine for next to nothing.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Penny Arcade Game Busts Three-Day Records]]> I didn't like the demo for some reason, and I don't think it's worth the 20$... I dunno. I am a pretty big fan of Penny Arcade but I didn't like the jokes in the game that much. Meh.

I will be rockin that at my IT job, I know all will be jealous. But I was a little dismayed at reading this news item. Will Gamestop not give me my fair due of free extra crap, I worried? Thankfully for not as I am listening to my nice LP of joy and wonderment. I am a little sad that it doesn't have kiss to build a dream on... But because of fallout one or two? I went out and got the Satchmo anthology so it doesn't really matter.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Grand Theft Auto: DUI]]> This was nucking futs. I really don't think we needed the whole 8 drinks thing. I am pretty sure 5 would do in general.

I don't know about getting drunk in the late afternoon. You should wait until it's a little dark out. Next time I think you need a wingman too. It's no fun getting drunk alone. Believe me I know....

Just remember it's a slippery slope in getting drunk to do your job and getting drunk cause you got out of bed.

Awesome piece on the horrors of drinking and playing. Video 3d zoom was awesome. The choice of burbon was excellent as well.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Street Fighter IV "Could Go Potentially" to Wii]]> Street Fighter 3 Alpha for the GBA is probably one of the best versions ever created bar none. I am not putting it lightly at all when I say, if you haven't played this and are a street fighter fan you are sorely missing out.

That game has all the moves the graphics are amazing and it is great just to pickup and play a quick game of SF on the go. I just might have beaten that game more than the SF2Turbo for the SNES. I am not sure.

The other versions released for the GBA were just off for some reason. Maybe the characters were not in the proper ratio or the game wasn't the right speed. They went from meh to insane with the release SF3A.

So please keep your mockery of the Gameboy to yourself.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on American No More Heroes Manual Is A Black & White Disappointment]]> @ceilingFANBOY: gets shrinkage on Saturday:
I have Zelda TWP, Metroid Corruption, Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, & Excitetruck. I would call them Hardcore games not casual at all in my book. The only game from Nintendo I would call casual that I own is Wario Ware Smooth moves. I was referring to 'casual' as being shovelware like carnival and the excellent Cruisin. What is your point again about Nintendo making cheap crappy 'casual' games?

]]>
<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on American No More Heroes Manual Is A Black & White Disappointment]]> I bought this captain insano monstrosity and I LOVE IT. It is a game made for mal adjusted gaming freaks made by mal adjusted gaming freaks. No More Heroes is the essence of KOTAKU. Well except for the cake fetish.

What I DEMAND to know is where is my toliet paper; Where is my full color quasi erotic manual. I pre ordered No More Heroes and am loving every minute of the game but why must we be looked down upon so by publishers.

This is what the Wii is made for and no one but a few people are making serious games for it. I find the industry totally at fault and in contempt of the gaming public at large. It is not Nintendo's fault there are so few 'hardcore' games it is the publishers. Games don't need the best graphics to sell. They don't need gimmicky Wiimote only controls. Seeing this game makes me all the more furius at third party publishers.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Nintendo Need Confirmation The Game Boy Is Dead]]> I just recently bought a micro. Oh yes the GBA will still be livin for a long time to come. The manager at gamestop actually tried to talk me out of it!! I play a lot of RPG's and they need GBA lovin. The DS light doesn't feel right with the GBA cart appendage sticking out. Long live the GBA!!!

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on UT3 Is Ready For 360, No It's Not]]> I can't stand FPS with a Joystick that is nuts, have fun with that one. UT3 works very well on just about any older graphics card, they did an amazing job optimizing it. I had it running on my vanilla 6800 very nicely. The Orange box runs with everything on high on my old computer which is nice. UT3 had a lot of the eye candy turned down to medium but it was steady. I had to finally bite the bullet and get a 8800 gt when I saw one on sale. Not for this game but really for crysis which after playing the demo is kinda boring. Meh. Oh well I can enjoy Bioshock and The Whitcher in all their glory. And no don't go on about how you need an expensive system to run games with a little smart upgrading it wont cost much more than 100$ or so a year to make your computer a nice gaming rig.

]]>
<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Steam Super Sale Starts Now]]> I've never bought drm games before. Hope it doesn't bite me in the ass later. Can you play these games wih no internet connection after you dl them??
I just got the really underappreciated stalker to go with my 8800gt that arrived yesterday! ~20 was all wanted to pay and thats what i did. I'm liking stalker a lot, it seems like crazy fun.
I paid full price for the orange box, it's worth it at any price really. For 9 bucks if you haven't played Psychonaughts yet, do yourself a favor and grab it now.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on T-Mobile Rolls Out Second 3G Phone, Nokia 6263, Still No 3G Network]]> I have the excellent Tmob Dash. If you use google it is great. Google will make pages smaller and it's search is amazing for finding resturants. It also has the excellent google reader where you just put in RSS feeds and use the newly made web address as your bookmarks. All these things come up in one second or so on even EDGE. So unless you are using your phone as a modem it doesn't really matter. Unless you try getting a ungooglized web page on Pocket IE. I really wish MS got a decent browser to make me care about 3g service.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Mystery Devs Working On Unreal Engine 3 For Wii]]> I don't know why Epic has been dragging their feet with this. I have an old computer I have an old video card. It runs unreal 3 just fine if I lower the sliders down quite a bit from max. Now if you are using the same exact parts on a console you can use all kinds of tricks to make a game perform better. I mean the same ports of 360 games bring many top of the line computers to their knees. Because they are optimized for the somewhat less powerful 360. If you are running things at 640 resolutions just about everything will fly. Just look at what lower resolutions did for Halo 3....

In general I call BS on everyone saying how underpowered the Wii is. It's like saying Cruising USA from Midway is the pinnacle of Wii programming. It could be a potential bonaza for publishers and Epix if there was a easy way to port games to the console with the largest share of the market. I think it is moronic to not try and put any effort into having a Wii version. Epix is nuts you just decrease the textures and whatnot and voilla easing porting fun. I KNOW the Wii loves it some easy porting.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Korea's NCSoft at Crossroads?]]> I really like Guild Wars and about 4 million others do too. I just picked up the expansion for Guild Wars, Eye of the North, and it's just what I wanted. All in all Guild Wars seems to be doing really well, most areas are full of people at all hours of the night. Guild Wars isn't very hardcore. It's about as unhardcore as you can get with a MMORPG, and that's just fine with me. Unless you are talking about PVP and then yeah that's pretty hardcore.

About the only think I need from NCSOFT is Guild Wars 2, yeah that would do nicely.

Eeek Mountain Dew needs to fire it's testing staff. Why they didn't just badge a mountain dew container and give away stuff I will never know.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on iPhone Free Software Unlock Confirmed (Death Star Explodes)]]> CDMA is a completely different standard than GSM you cannot use a GSM (Tmobile, ATT) on a CDMA carrier (verizon, sprint, alltel). They have different non interchangeable transmitters. The only phone that you can use on both are certain Sprint / Verizon World phones. They have both types of transmitters on board at double the tranmistter cost. CDMA was Developed by Qualcomm and enhanced by Ericsson (from wikipedia) only us backwards Americans and I think the Iraq's use it. Isn't freedom wonderful god bless American Capitalism.

The iPhone operates on the GSM network. If you used it overseas the only bad thing that would happen is that your wireless internet would operate at gsm speeds not 3g speeds. Wifi should work the same even though some of the channels are slightly different. As as far as I know the USA is one of the only places that uses the far more energy efficient (and slower) edge network.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on iPhone Free Software Unlock Confirmed (Death Star Explodes)]]> I really like the service and lower prices I get from Tmboile. If you use google's mobile page view edge is pretty nice. If you use mobile formated websites it's basically instantaneous.

I do love my Dash to death but I don't like it that a few complex websites don't show up properly. I mean how friggin hard is it for MS to actually spend some time to code a proper browser. Seriously that is my only problem with WM devices. You can throw all that other iPhone crap in the trash but the full browser is the only thing I want. So maybe I'll get the iPhone 2.x.

The reason for my post is do you people hate At$t that much?? I mean how hard do they suck? Or is just the 2 year contract. Tmob is still givin out 1 year contracts unlike everyone else, is that the only reason for the unwashed masses hatred of iPhone+At$t?

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Guild Wars: Eye of the North Goes Live]]> This is a great game. I only have the original prophecies game and none of the other addon games. The other addon games never really interested me because you'd need to use the new characters to get everything out of them. I think this a worthy purchase. I just went back and redid my character's skills and it's all new again. If you get the game at their online store, you'll get free bonus missions in November! Woopie! If you do the online purchase just type in

"C:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

In order for the game to download all the files so there isn't any 5 minute pauses when you first go to new areas.

The expansion is just what I wanted. GWEN adds new areas that have a lot of interesting characters and quests. Also it adds a lot of skills that are usable by any type of character. Oh and most importantly! It has new Heroes in it. And the heroes are all pretty interesting looking. This is important if you just have the first game, you don't have access to heroes.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Sony Starts Recycling Program - Takes Consoles Back for Free!]]> They don't say what type of recycling it is. Burning things up is refered to as recycling, all the while releasing yummy toxins and greenhouse gases into the air. It is recycling because the toxins don't leach into the drinking water. This is the cheapest way to 'Recycle' something and unfortunately many cities use it.

This is in Sony's Best economic interest. I have a good 90's surround sony tuner. I don't want it I can recycle it or I can sell it to a pawn shop. The pawn shop in turn sells to product to someone who doesn't buy a NEW Sony product. Even if something isn't working many things taken to be recycled are easily fixed up, or further broken down for spare usable parts.

Sony wins Earth looses.

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on A Dozen Xbox 360s, One Man's Tale Of Woe]]> @Yetanotheruninspiredscreename:

I was thinking this guy was nuts for saying it was only the people going on live but he might have a solid point. I don't have a 360 but I want to get one as soon as the shrink to 65nm comes around.

The main reason for the 360 problems is heat I believe. The poster above said not to go on live to stop your console from bricking...Hmm

I have a Wii it is in standby mode all the time (it's version of off), it is hot as hell. It is sitting in the middle of a desk, yet it is hot as hell. The reason is it's CPU/ wifi chips are working and I don't think the standby mode is letting the cpu & wifi chips go into a deep enough sleep. If you do standby right with the right hardware and software you can make chips take up almost no energy and release no excess heat. You sleep in super sleep mode and wake up every 20 min or so to check for updates. The Wii isn't doing this...

So could the 360 be in a lower speed mode but still sucking up a ton of power and releasing a ton of heat. Thereby while in standby mode the machine is still very warm. The 360 is heating up all it's chips not at max but there are no fans while it is constantly checking for live updates. Then you play a game and it pushes it over the edge. Motherboard warps due to all the heat and wamo. Sooo maybe if you totally disconected the xbox it actually turns off and a little less damage is done to the machine...

All I know is that I have a PS2 a year from when it first came out. I always turned it off when not playing it. Still have my original. My friends leave theirs on a lot instead of turning it off. Many are on their third PS2's... Coincidence?

<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Breaking: Pogue Reviews the iPhone, Gives it 1.5 Thumbs Up]]> I just loaded the real normal Yahoo site on my dash it takes 27 seconds. The edge network on AT&T must be total crap. I think they let it go to hell in order to focus on 3g. But 3G sucks up you battery life at 3x the rate almost. I can watch my slingbox and orb pretty well anywhere with a good connection. Try getting the slingbox on your iphone kiddies hahaha.

I am sure you all can't wait for the 3g 'upgrade' that will make this iphone version look like complete crap. Go onward Apple progress!

]]>
<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on Breaking: Pogue Reviews the iPhone, Gives it 1.5 Thumbs Up]]> Thats weird I have the Tmobile EDGE network and the times site literally comes up in 5 seconds nytimes.com. Amazon.com 5 seconds. I think it automatically kicks you to the mobile version when it detects wm6 Pocket IE. If the page is made for mobile, edge flies. I really wish more sites would make mobile versions. I mean how hard is it to dump all your text and just keep some key images. Also if you browse sites through google or ms live search they format the pages to show up instantly.

I am extremely happy with my WM6 upgraded Tmobile dash/ MDA Excaliber. It's extremely tiny. Wouldn't part with it for the world. Well... maybe they could stick a GPS in there but I am not really complaining. It is easy to find a map on there of where you are on google maps. Strangely enough a free download that you can get without the amazing iphone.

I in general hate iCrap products from apple. They nickel and dime you to death with all the programs that are available freely with other systems. Apple products are made to be disposable which disgusts me. Their solution to many upgrade problems are to buy a new product. Oh well whatever.

You need to test out what car works for you in the arcade mode before you purchase it. The fastest car isn't always the best. If you choose a car that matches your driving style you will be unstoppable in flatout once you get ahold of the great driving in this game.

]]>
<![CDATA[FuzyBaffy commented on FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage: Things Explode]]> I like flatout much better than burnout. Burnout has more single player stuff. But flatout multiplayer is a blast. The driving physics and feel of all the flatout games are way better than burnout. There is even a rpg feel to you upgrading your car in flatout. I really think everyone should grab both the first and second flatout games they are great. They especially hold up well on the PC with all the graphics turned up.
