"Like most of you geeks, I too don't bother with television and rely on torrents. Now, many companies say this is illegal. But what I don't get is, if it's illegal to copy and download because someone is losing money because you're not watching TV and the adverts that come along with it, what if that program screens on a non-commercial network, like Doctor Who on the (Australian) ABC? Or what if the program won't ever come to Australian TV, like, well, anything decent, but Middleman springs to mind?"

And if you'd actually take time to read the linked article, you'd see Nakamura accurately points out the irony in the fact that it was the Victorian Era that eradicated the "maker", replacing the folk arts and crafts with mass produced machine made goods and services, which is the whole point of the article. This irony may be known to Steampunkers, but it's never acknowledged in any of the articles about Steampunk, which Nakamura suggests is a failing on both media reporting it and the Steampunkers for not raising it."
