Wow I can't believe you actually made this comment. Loving the nerd world and the sports world are not mutually exclusive. You make the rest of us nerds sound bad.
Of course things in Canada are better, you are a tenth the size of America. It's like a mother of one kid boasting to a mother of ten how much your house is in order and how well behaved everyone is.
He already has 100+ pages of the next book completed. Taking a 6 month break from writing again is a good thing. I'm no Martin apologist but taking a break from writing a series with thousands upon thousands of pages is pretty reasonable.
Read closer. All the hints are in the first two books, the majority in GOT.
I am about to host a Fifa tournament today at my house. 12 players, teams drawn at random from highest rated 12, and a 25 dollar buyin.

Group stage followed by knockout round, winner gets 225, (rest of money goes to beer and burgers and dogs and beer)

We got two tvs setup side by side with ps3 and 360. It's going to be a great day.
His role comes next season but it is a monumental role that has an extreme impact upon the Starks. Plus he is our lens through which we will be introduced to the Iron Isles. They needed people to remember him next season when he becomes more important.

Also at the end of this season Rob's decision to send Theon to parlay with Balon against Cat's wishes plays a big part in their future.
The key to gamefly is if you want a certain game, you clear your entire que and have only that game on it. You will wait 3 days max, in my experience, and then it will ship. Manipulate the system, keep your que empty.
I think the most impressive thing that Stephen didn't mention was the development team is essentially four people. All of whom were laid off by EA.

This game looks great! Support this little guy!

Oh and Stephen Shadow Wars on the 3DS is a great title that will satisfy, albeit not wholly, your advance wars cravings.

Well said Fahey. Anyone other old timers here remember when Flynn DeMarco worked at Kotaku. Curious as to his thoughts on this matter.

Man I miss those old heady days when Kotaku was an upstart blog.
Add me and all your dreams will come true.

Purchased at 9am and have played about 2 hours of shadow wars, 40 minutes of face raider, and about 10 in ridge racer.

Absolutely love it. Not digging my first couple races in ridge racer but shadow wars is an extremely fun srpg and the 3d makes the immersion complete. Looking into ravines and watching smoke rise from the screen makes the game so much more engaging.

And I have shared face raiders with 4 people and everyone flipped out about how amazing it was.

Awesome system and an awesome launch all around for me.
@spacechampion: @Charlie Jane Anders: Wedding at the beach? Not really what I had in mind at all. The Dothraki hate the sea, poison water and all.

I'm sure it will looks splendid, khaleesi.
Just finished reading Game of Thrones, and I am having trouble thinking as to what scene this may be.

Perhaps Dany looking over the narrow sea? Or Lady Stark sailing into Kings Landing?

I can't really recall a key beach scene.
@Archaotic: Your comment is so off the mark and insulting it makes me embarrassed you have a star.

Calling WWII "dry and uninteresting" only exposes your lack of knowledge and understanding of the time period and the very real history that shaped the world as we now know it. The game design and narrative techniques might be lacking innovation, but the source material is untouchable.

And dismissing the entire genre as an appeal to the "basest instinct of the male psyche" is so laughably amateurish, shortsighted and ignorant a statement that I can hardly believe you actually believe it.
I spend my working hours staring at a computer and sitting at a desk.

The last thing I want to do when playing video games and unwinding is sit in front of a computer. Give me my couch and a controller and my 60 inch LCD.
I've had the first book on my kindle since Christmas. Thinking about jumping into it tonight once I get through the last 10% of Windup Girl.
You see as much as I love the shore I couldn't bring myself to be seen buying this book let alone reading it in public.

But, with my kindle, I can be reading Its a Shore Thing while everyone else assumes I am readying Stieg Larrson or whatever the fuck is popular right now.
