Has kotaku on PC completely gone to hell for anyone else? It almost never loads on chrome or safari, and even on constant refreshing, Mehrune's Razor has a better chance to one hit kill than kotaku finally loading. When it does load, I can't seecomments, which, no offence to the editors, is the only reason I come here. I'm on a tablet right now.
Let's talk about Skyrim. More specifically, progress in the game.
MILD SPOILERS MILD SPOILERS
After 47 hours, I've done-
A few main quests (I finished the quest with the party) A couple of Civil War quests (Am with Imperials, defended the you-know-what city) 4 Daedric quests 7 side quests A ton of misc objectives A good part of the mage quests A good part of Companion quests A couple of Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests
This seems pretty woeful compared to what I have left to do. However, I see people who've finished everything, and have created multiple characters. That seems pretty insane to me, completing everything in the game is quite a feat.
Ah, so her name is Adrianne? I haven't looked at the name tag since the first time I spoke to her. I just refer to her as that sucker who buys all my junk.
It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine whenever I see characters in a movie playing video games and doing it wrong. The controller is almost always off, and I highly doubt there's a game out there which requires you to mash buttons randomly without touching the shoulder buttons or the analog sticks.
To be fair, Master Criminal is a pretty contrived achievement. I'm willing to bet that the majority of those who play the game don't act unlawful enough to build up a bounty of 1000 gold in EACH of the 9 holds.
Also, well, I've played hours and hours of the game but since I explore dungeons and do lots of misc objectives, I haven't really been racking in trophies. This is just one game where the achievement list isn't that much of an indication of the interest of the general gaming population in the game.
The aiming was the very first thing I complained about to a friend, but by the time I was a third into it, I got used to it. On my crushing playthrough, I hardly noticed anything.
The sand mechanic sounds interesting, but is that one element good enough to carry the game? The rest of the game sounds like your run of the mill third person shooter.
Poor kid, he's going to have a rough time in school. Those of us who've finished school know that the "politics" in there are quite meaningless, but hazing can have an undermining influence at that age.
I'm thinking about going for a offensive battlemage - sword/magic wielding, right in the middle of the fight. What race should I go with? The high elf has the advantage in magicka pool and regenration, Imperials have additional starting points in heavy armor, one handed and destruction, all of which will be important skills for me, and the Khajit just looks badass.
Advice/tips from players would be appreciated- Skyrim's going to be my first foray into the world of Elder Scrolls when I get it next week.
