How are you missing the sexual overtones of her character? Sex appeal is a huge part of how she operates.
Exotic compared to who? For me exotic is what I think of when he describes the women in the east in Danny's storyline. The sexual overtones in how she interacts with men over the course of the 5 released books left me with the impression that she's the kind of girl that does what it takes to get what she wants.
That's not my only physical qualification and my statement didn't imply that, settle the fuck down.
Hmmm, of all the new ones it's Milly and Stanis that just don't look right to me. I expected her to be a little more slutty looking frankly, and I expected Stanis to be a little bigger. If they turn out to be good actors though I can live with it.
Brienne and Davos though, wow, perfect casting in the looks department IMHO and did I miss him? but the photo's I've seen I've the guy playing Roose Bolton are just scary perfect.
Edit: With Milly, it's more of a costume/makeup thing for me I guess, not really the actresses "look", she's plenty attractive enough for the role.
