@im2fools: Aside from the GM stock everything you list is something that the buyer can continue to enjoy even if the supplier goes under. If Entropia shuts down for some reason, or the servers implode, this guy's investment is completely gone.
This is a pretty old school PC gamer trick. I used to make sure I was near a window or door at smaller LAN parties so I could have half the intake fans on my overclocked system pull in outside fall/winter air.
@Laughtrey: I had to recreate my account as well, but it synced if i used the same email address. Not that those old games are worth any points though.
@Evil Tortie's Mom: R.O.A.C.H.: Bart was dressed as Alex for one of the earlier ones, so while it was kind of funny (although it didn't really make any sense) it was also a kind of recycled joke.
@Halfnelson117: Yeah, I HDD installed too. Zone changes lock up after a couple of hours of game time and require a system reboot, and that final battle just went all to hell.
@puffa469: That one actually has a work around. If you did the quest for the Atomic Wrangler to kill a guy, and then looted his corpse (which was on the strip) it causes some kind of issue when the strip tries to load.
The workaround is to find another copy of the hat he was wearing (Battered Cowboy Hat I think...) and have it in your inventory or wear it when you try to zone into the strip.
@Klucidity: I steal constantly but it balances out thanks to good quests and killing evil enemies. Mindless ghoul kills grant good karma, as do Legion kills I think.
@Serge-Frederic Clermont: This is a good way to keep both Bruce and Dick in the costume though, working in different parts of the country/world. Knight and Squire are going to be part of the mix as well.
I like it, if only for the fact that it is removing the now ridiculous "He is an urban legend!" angle that writers often cling to.
@Ironfistchinmi: While normally I would disagree with this, we ARE talking about a video game, and since he never once said something stereotypical like "Brother" or "My Man!" then it is a fair inference.
The ellipses do suggest a level of irony at least among my circle of internet friends. For example "Nothing could go wrong with this idea..." reads as far more sarcastic that with a single period.
Jordan himself would be the only person who could clarify this for us, and they have yet to respond.
As far as why the line from Hackers was where I went immediately, that phrase, as well as "I bet it looks crispy in the dark" have been a part of my vocabulary and have been used regularly for several years now. Considering the quality of the movie I am not sure why.
