I would love to just be able to play the damn thing on PC, THE 27TH ORIGIN?! REALLY?! ITS ONLY ONE MORE DAY BUT FUCK REGIONAL RESTRICTIONS I WANT IT NOW! /rage
Now that's 'shipped' not 'sold' right?
Opinions are just that, opinions. They are neither right or wrong, superior or inferior.

You hated the game, congrats we all know now, but what you hate, someone else might love, let them decide for themselves.
I'm in the same boat, just waiting to see if Bulldozer will be worth it, then its upgrade time.
Still just short of 2 months away from it's release yet, patience patience.

Also I'm sure it was said that the specs were close to BC2's specs, pretty much if you can play BC2 decently then BF3 shouldn't be a problem, might just not be able to have all the pretties turned up.
The mod/port will apparently work with the original files from either the PS1 or PC version when it's complete, considering the original doesn't work very well (if at all) on Windows 7, I'm following it very intently.
Allow me to direct you to this, [omnicide.legacy-of-kain.ru]

Make sure a bucket is on hand to catch the excess drool.
So from those spec's we can glean that its more memory and cpu intensive then gpu, because man those cards are very very midrange. Ugh my Athlon X2 6000+ cries out in pain once more.... I need a upgrade.

Also 25Gb for the install is nothing these days, has everyone forgotten DA:O? That was 20Gb, not counting all the DLC and the expansion that followed. Shit alot of the recent corridor shooters have broken 10Gb easily.
You know what franchise I would love to see a HD re-release of? The PS2 Legacy of Kain games, we already have Blood Omen and Soul Reaver on PSN let's get the others up there, given SE's track record for re-releasing their old games over and over again I can only hope.
It seems to be built for an iPad or something, it looks so tiny on my monitor, if I combine the space left over on either side of the site I would have enough space to fit ANOTHER Kotaku, not that I would want to with this layout. CHANGE IT BACK!
@Brian Crecente: No Bad Company 2 love Crecente?
@Ackbar-is-The-Boss: Actually I would compare this to V8 Supercars which is indeed thrilling.... well for the most part.
Turning left, turning left, turning left.

Thrilling.
My old PS2's laser recently died so I'm actually in the market for a new PS2 :D
@Simon Sharp: The thing about them supporting OpenGL is besides developing their own standard (which I highly doubt anyone would adopt), OpenGL is really their only choice as DX is only available on Windows.

And afaik the PS3 uses a modified version of OpenGL ES.
@TheSolarKnight: I also remember hearing something along the lines of between the Wii and the 360/PS3 but I guess we wont really know till we get our hands on it.
If that is actual in-game graphics and not pre-rendered then OMG! Looks like the 3DS having the power of a GC was right on the money.
@DocSeuss: Someone make this into a movie NOW!
@Nethlem: Yea with the UI update a few months back the underlying engine was changed and afaik the old browser didn't support flash not because it used the 64bit IE (it used the engine IE uses not IE itself) but because it couldn't utilise plugins (like flash), it was basically like using Firefox with NoScript turned on for all sites, you were lucky if anything worked correctly.
@Nethlem: It doesn't use another browser per se, it uses the WebKit rendering engine, which basically means it's Steams own browser and not some other one. It is also used to render other parts of the client, Chrome and Safari also use this rendering engine.

Thankfully it's not using Trident (IE) anymore :)
