@Robotic-Richard-Simmons: Agreed. It's BS to give them any props at all. They put out a patch LATE that doesn't change the problem for the people who bought the game for $60 and first experienced the problem. Who get's rewarded? The people who waited and bought the game for $10.
@Whooped.D.Dew: Sorry, been awhile since I've been on the site for some reason. Two of the achievements are bugged on the 360. They released a patch for the PS3 (to improve the graphics, and fix the trophies) but the 360 version was never released. They now say that they'll patch close to the new dash release date, however haven't really heard anything new since then...
@VagEnthusiast Now more enthusiastic than ever before!: And what's sad is, many companies like EA (Army of Two: The 40th Day) and Atari (Ghostbusters - yes I know they say a patch is finally coming out) still don't release these "simple" patches. At least Nintendo is fixing the issue.
@Durandal: I was just going based on the specific number that a dev gave me when I was doing some focus testing. I asked another dev about it when I was testing there (living in the Dallas area rocks) and they confirmed that it was "about right". I'm not trying to say I knoew everything about how it works... just sharing the little bit I do know.
@Joshua Bell: Xbox Games go through around 2 months of certification through the publisher and MS. During this time the teams can't really work on the game much (outside of bugs found by the publisher and certification)... So they start working on expansion stuff which becomes DLC. In Short... it *WAS* being worked on before the game was released. #borderlands
@Darigaazrgb: If this creates some sort of DLC clearance at GameStop I might actually visit one again. However I assume this content will be sold through some sort of activation deal. So cards that aren't sold will just be tossed without ever really costing the company anything... hence, no clearance. I've bought a couple 360 DLC things from Amazon.com (where a code is simply mailed to you)... I don't see this as being much different than if I was at TRU and saw a code for sale that I could enter when I get home. #gamestop
@greyseal: I don't mind the points that'll get used later... what I dislike is I've bought some odd costing content, and now I have points (which are money) that will NEVER be used. It's not a huge deal... I mean is 45 cents worth worrying about? Probably not. #gamestop
@Kovitlac: I agree. On top of that, I'm a little put off by Luke's handling of the "story". Granted I know this is as much a "blog" (opinion based) as it is a "news" (fact based) site. But injecting the whole "They are missing the point" instead of commenting on how we can finally GIFT downloadable content, buy DLC without storing our card #s on the MS server, Buy DLC without going through the point transaction and doing away with those weird left over MS points. There is a LOT of benefit in doing this... once again gamers fail to see the world though any eyes buy their own. However, I still don't like GameStop :) #gamestop
@diagorus: If you can't CONNECT to live, I doubt they are going to let you enter a code and download something. #gamestop
@noosphear: "there is the opportunity to sell a heck of a lot more DLC and downloadable games. There are a lot of people who have the requisite internet connection and still don't check what is available for download on their respective systems. The number of copies of Shadow Complex, Fat Princess, Castle Crashers, etc. that I could have sold if I would have been able to talk to someone in the store about them and just ring them up is pretty ridiculous." ^^ I agree with this whole heartedly. "Arcade" games are kind of like candy in the store. You might impulse buy it, and that's more likely from a place like GameStop than from the console. #gamestop
@fdisk: I think you need to learn to read a little slower. This will not help those who were banned. #gamestop
@Bubbleman!: Truthfully, even that won't do it. People will still steal games, if they cost anything at all. #modernwarfare2
@Crash McCloud: Because they can't turn off all communications, or plug in a headset and turn it all the way down? #modernwarfare2
@Crash McCloud: And you think blocking party chat is going to get these same ass-hats to suddenly play the game as a team? Granted I'm not entirely against or for the idea... I see some good points, and some bad points... but people aren't going to become better communicators simply because they can't be in a party chat with their friends. They'll still sing their version of some pop/rap/emo song... they'll still talk on the phone without muting their headset... they'll still yell at their mom when dinner is ready, etc. If anything, I saw these things DROP when Party Chat was introduced. IW could easily make it an option : "Play in Games that allow Party Chat: Yes / No" -- Yes will find all games, No would filter down to the ones set to not allow. Problem solved. #modernwarfare2
@zlimness: You can block communications with all who are not on your friend list... I think you can also block all communications (both from within the dashboard settings). On top of that, there will probably be an in-game mute option. #modernwarfare2
@bigd7387: Yeah, my grandma is totally in to Wii Bowling and Mad World! #nintendo
@stingjc: Of course we can, because that's what the Internet does. #nintendo
@PapaBear434: Yours also doesn't help control a video game. I'm not saying that Nintendo's version is going to be some cutting edge new thing that Microsoft and Sony start to copy... but your rant comes off more like anti-fanboyism than anything. What part of a computer seems "fun" when you break it down to it's PRACTICAL application (like finance, etc). Yet computers are still used for fun every day. #nintendo
@mellowspaz: Most of the online Halo 3 achievements can be gotten with little to no skill if you have a group of 3 friends that are willing to help you out. As far as the ones that count in social matches... you'd need one friend with 4 controllers, and you with 4 controllers. However, I agree with you... I prefer games to have achievements/trophies that are based on the single player/co-op experiance and not the PvP. #gamerscore
