In this edition of Giz Complains™, blogger Mat Honan is upset with the lack of a new number appendage to his mobile telephone. More at eleven, plus weather and sports
I feel compelled to respond. I'm no expert, but I attended a screening of "How to die in Oregon" at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and I was shocked at how powerful a case it makes for assisted suicide.
Reading a couple comments here makes me wonder who people think are actually buying these kits: the clinically depressed probably aren't. The people who will buy these are the terminally ill — they want to have a dignified death. They don't want to reach the stage where bile starts seeping through their leg pores before they finally pass.
The film shows many terminal people and their families who all say that when they have prescribed medicine (that would kill them) in their nightstand or what have you, it gives them a sense of relief and keeps them at peace. Knowing that the pain could stop at any second empowers them. It makes you in control of your own destiny.
Please, don't impose moral beliefs on people who go through incredible suffering and would like to see it end peacefully.
I get that you're doing a new redesign and all, but I'm really starting to hate these huge banner fonts on the pictures. I know it's "eye-catching", (or whatever) but I feel pandered to. You should respect our intelligence enough to post pictures without overly blatant captions written for third grade reading.
@cowboyhugbees: Lmao, you have no idea what you're talking about. In Melee you had 7-8 viable characters (Fox / Marth aren't even the best in the game, Jiggs is) and in Melee you have three: Meta-Knight, Snake, or Diddy.
Brawl is stupid broken. It's also lame as shit, with zero skill required to become proficient at it. It's boring to watch and play.
Yeah, I totally believe it. This happened to the neighbours who lived beside me.
I knew they had all played Warcraft (the wife, the husband, the daughter) voraciously. (They were shocked to hear I had a WotLK beta key) Anyway, long story short, the husband was keylogging the wife after hearing her talk about a British "friend" she was questing with. He started monitoring her every chatlog and what not, and eventually deduced that she was going to run away to England to date this young man.
I remember when the wife came into my kitchen and said the divorce terms. They were even splitting the gold and auctionable items.
@NaraVara: Why don't you install WheelofTrust if you're so worried about spyware on the internet? Ninjavideo's rating is fine, btw.

You don't install any widget, you allow a Javascript app that runs in a separate window. No anything.
Even still! They upload flash videos. Megaupload. Total safety.
@DARTH_TIGRIS: Really? I so rarely have a problem with NV. If for any reason videos don't work for me, (almost never) I just do Icefilms or use the flash version.
@pixelpushing: I'm not sure you follow what I'm saying. I use Ninjavideo because of a bunch of reasons:
a) it's uploaded the night of.
b) I can't use Hulu in Canada, and I fail @ proxies.
c) it's perfect quality.
d) there's no limit, and entire seasons are there.
if websites like Hulu did this, I would kick in $10 a month or so. I would pay. But they don't. Streaming divx websites eclipse Hulu, but if Hulu stepped up their game, I would sit there and watch ads or pay.
@maharani: Well, good! No one here seems to understand the awesomeness. I'm glad someone listened. If you have Divx (not the latest version!) then Ninja is super reliable and legitimate. They upload like, 2 hours after its been broadcast on the air.
@Illundiel: Perhaps, but when we're reading posts in Gawker Blogs like how to improve torrent speeds, reviews of iPad stream apps (that show the Giz editors streaming torrented episodes of shows) and how to hack your Wii...it just makes me sad to see you guys ignorant to such an amazing website. People ask for HD (720p), available in all countries, uploaded the night of, back catalogues, and no ads. You don't need to torrent. Hulu's being put to shame by the websites like ninjavideo and icefilms, and if Hulu adopted a better model (like ninja/icefilms) then I would switch to the legal websites and watch ads.
@maharani: I know I sound like a shill (I already plugged Ninja in my own post) but I just feel compelled to help you drop your cable bill. I am not affiliated with them at all! Just a huge fan.

Do I have to get Glee for you too?
The game has been changed. Illegally, sure, but piracy doesn't seem to be that big an issue on Gawker blogs, so here's hoping I've shown someone the redundancy of Hulu.
