I really do recommend Battlestations: Midway

Try to imagine a game of Battleship, with subs, destroyers, carriers, etc... all swimmin' round the ocean.

And then theres planes, which can be ordered to launch from said ships, or little bases on little islands.

Now, you can either control the whole game top down from a large map, like an RTS. Telling your ships where to go and who to attack, when to launch planes, what you want the planes to do...

OR, at any point in time, you can zoom down onto the ship or squadron of planes in first or third person, and then actually pilot them in yourself. So you could be a sneaky sub under the water lookin for crap to blow up or a plane doing a bombing run or getting into dogfights.

Now thats just the single player campaign. In multiplayer, you and all your friends can either be assigned your own forces, or (and this is much more fun) everyone gets assigned either 1 squadron of planes (3 planes), one ship, or one sub. So both sides have to work together to wipe out the other side and people are screaming into their headsets giving up their only life (meaning they would be out till next round) taking their flaming and slowly sinking ship, going to full ramming speed just to crash into the side of the powerful enemy destroyer.

Its fun. Its just theres no online community for it now because its so old on the 360, dunno bout PC. Highly recommended.
