Also, it's funny you asked that because I had that same argument with my roommate. The ad itself is as gay as your standard perfume/underwear/Armani/Gucci ad. It's just that everyone (including myself, my gf had to show me) thought the ad had a penis in it, when it was just a thumb. The message went far (and would probably never work in the US) but it annoyed me that everytime we see a naked guy we scream "gay" and then automatically tag it as "bad." But anyways, enough preaching for tonight ;)
It's pretty simple. I feel like gays are in the same spot Blacks were a few decades ago. I know the analogy might not always work and I was pretty rough with homosexuals myself before. But I feel we just have to accept it now because clearly, it's becoming a part of our culture. Our kids might have gays as best friends (hell I have a gay person as a very close friend myself!) and I think the more people accept it now the easier it will be for everyone later.
Also, I respect everyone's beliefs/morals. It's one's right to criticize or say whatever about people's lifestyles. But I think it's stupid and childish to systematically associate any group with "bad." That was ok for elementary school, but I'm positive everyone here is past that.
