<![CDATA[Comments from Custom Reality]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Custom Reality]]> <![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on A Week In One Comment]]> @Zim: I'm in total agreeance with you. I never post in RE5 threads because a hissy fit is thrown on all sides, and even I was insulted by his comment. As riddled with condescension and contradictions as it was.

I just think Kotaku Tower is shocked that people on the internet can be stupid and immature, and are in panic mode as to how to deal with the influx of stupid a site deals with when the proverbial floodgates are opened. Comments like Kerosene's only lead to brown nosing, which isn't conducive to intelligent banter/debate at all.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Grisly Beheading Blamed On Hitman]]> @dechire: I take umbrage to that statement. I'm twenty minutes from Detroit and either you think that black cities are crime-ridden, which in itself is racist, or you seem to think Detroit is awful based on some secondhand information.

Columbine didn't occur in Detroit. Many famous killers weren't from Detroit either. Please, I urge you to think before typing out such statements.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Grisly Beheading Blamed On Hitman]]> This story has been in the news for months now in my state, where it took place. They were kids being stupid, sadistic kids, and nowhere did video games ever come up. None of the news agencies and publications up here ever once mentioned a video game link, but leave it to CNN...

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Mafia II Headed to PS3, 360, PC]]> Those are some incredibly promising screens (too bad GTA didn't look like that). One of the biggest drawbacks to the first Mafia game was the cars' characteristics, they handled like blocks of stone on square wheels. Hope they fix that this time around. Otherwise it should be a big hit if the screens are indication.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Commenting]]> Kotaku is relatively new, as are many of its features. So much tweaks, along with systems of checks and balances are bound to need implementation. I cannot recall much of anything that worked right off the drawing board.

Too bad you can't fix 'stupid'. Ass-kissing needs to become against the Terms Of Service too. Though the absence of both would make Kotaku that much better.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Dan "Shoe" Hsu Leaves EGM/1Up]]> While I belive Ziff Davis to be trash in terms of publications, I was a fan of Dan. Sad to hear he'll be silenced for a while but I'm actually glad he's leaving a corporation like Ziff "nothing but crap" Davis.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on New DS Coming To E3 2008?]]> After giving up on the DS Lite, I purchased a Sony PSP 2000. I can honestly say the DS needs an analog stick and a much, much stronger graphics processor. With some small, but key features I found myself having a whole lot more fun on the PSP than I ever did on the DS Lite. A larger screen (or screens in this case) would do well too.

Oh, and much better wi-fi capabilities too. I don't do anything other than game on my PSP but the large screen, graphics and analog stick made a world of difference for me. I have no doubts Nintendo could top the PSP if they tried.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on 49 Million U.S. Gamers Buy Used Games To The Tune Of $1.3 Billion]]> I'm all for used games when it isn't worth paying full price for. Games that are good, but not $50 - $60 USD good. Otherwise I rent, read reviews, read/listen to other peoples' opinions, etc. before I commit to paying full price. I would rather support the developers over GameStop, but to be frank, if the game isn't worth the full price then I have no problem with buying used.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Australia Gets A Toned Down Grand Theft Auto IV]]> I think it is awesomely ironic that one of the most racist nations I have ever been to on Earth, has problems with releasing GTA to the public as is. In a nation where Australian rednecks abound and the cops do squat, yet the public can't play an uncensored GTA game.

Here's to Australia. Just as screwed up as the rest of us!

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on N-Gage Goes Live! Hello? Anyone?]]> I have a nephew overseas who spent a fortune on the first N-Gage. He's assured me that the minute he finds a Nokia exec, he will stuff the phone far up where the sun dare not shine. =)

I tried to tell him it couldn't be - that - bad. Then I tried it myself and sure enough it wasn't worth the money at all. It isn't even worth giving away with a contract. What an ugly, ugly concept with excruciatingly horrible execution.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on It's Another Kotaku Survey Giveaway!]]> @CyberG4: Was just thinking that. Hah.

I entered, since winning would be the only way I would spend any sort of currency at GameStop.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Hyper Multi-Tap Is Dead. Galactic Multi-Tap Lifts Off!]]> @Insomnia Bob: This isn't a Democratic nation. More like an internet video game blog with journalistic output. It would be more like Democracy if we could vote in and out editors and make or abolish certain rules. Not really the same, but you're close to being on the right track.

@Brian Ashcraft: I can see where you're coming from, when it's put like that. Still, I love Kotaku but I think I'll abstain from trying for a star all the same. The reason being I can't stop seeing it as the same as Microsoft Achievement Scores 2.0. Can't please everyone, so some people will undoubtedly love the new star system while others hate it.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Hyper Multi-Tap Is Dead. Galactic Multi-Tap Lifts Off!]]> I'm all for giving people a voice (even if 90% of comments will be trash), yet... I'm not so sure about giving people a - competitive - voice. A sort of 'look at me! Look at me! Mom! Mom! Mom! Look at my gold star! Mom! Look at me! Mom, you're not looking!' thing going on. Just my humble opinion. This is the internet, after all. Good luck on finding "meaningful" and "discussion" spoken in the same breath. =)

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Ralph Nader will be on Lou]]> @ARP: Small list (opens in new window)

The things Nader has done and accomplished will protect people for generations to come.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Ralph Nader will be on Lou]]> @Skeptic: "BS. You can find people bashing Nader plenty of places. It is possible for someone to have done helpful things in the past but to be doing counter productive things now. We can't ignore the latter for the former."

Heh... the irony of people blaming Nader on THE CONSUMERIST is that both have a sole purpose of looking out for the public and working to defend them.

- irony -

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Ralph Nader will be on Lou]]> @Skeptic: Are you blaming Nader for Gore and Kerry losing? Maybe you should blame the Democrats for not coming out in enough numbers or winning enough people to their side for allowing Bush Jr. to win - twice -.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Ralph Nader will be on Lou]]> Only on The Consumerist will you find people bashing Nader. The one man in politics that has done more for the American public in his career than anyone else.

Do you kids know the definition of irony? Or do we need a Democrat on TV to come and explain it to you?

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> Once work is done, I'm done spending time out on the town with friends and co-workers, once I've spent ample time with the girl, taken the Jeep out for a spin and caught up on some other stuff I'm going to use the ten minutes left in my weekend to try and find another movie reel in The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, for the Wii.

Ah ten minutes to game. Being an adult sure has its perks.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Round 13: Apple Vs SallieMae]]> @B: That's such a false statement. There are a million and one lenders including your local bank. Not to mention there are a bunch of government subsidized and unsubsidized loans to choose from. Hell, some people borrow from family or work three jobs to go through school. SallieMae is not the only option, let alone a - good - option.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Pixel Couch Is Perfect For Gamer Swass]]> That is one ugly, ugly couch. Not even in a cool way either. Damn you Geek Chic, you've gone too far!

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Toys "R" Us Carries Lower Back Tattoo Stickers Perfect For Your Trampy Kid]]> Kids have been dressing like "gangsters" and sluts since the early 2000s, why would TRU miss out on making some change on it all? I'm more worried about fourteen year-olds out on dates dressed like Britney Spears after going bat-shit insane than I would a cheesy fake tattoo.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Ninja Gaiden II Demo In May]]> I think I'm the only original Xbox owner on Earth who thought that one NG game was enough. I don't see the need for a sequel, but then again, I'm part of that 0.01% of fans who thinks so. It's a good game, but I don't see the series giving gamers anything but 'more of the same', only with buckets more blood.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on 8 Worst Foods In America]]> @pinkpuppet: Of course. You need diet - and - exercise. I used to think it was doable too when I used to workout and still eat at McDonald's in a way I thought was healthy. I got significantly better once McDonald's left my diet entirely.

To each his own, but if you're eating "healthy" at McDonald's, it's still McDonald's.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Oneechanbara: The Movie Teaser Trailer]]> @tabion20: Perhaps fully nude women in your bedroom would calm your half-naked movie women appetite? Yes?

Like finally saving up for a nice, brand-new car to stop you from drooling over every Motornews magazine because you drive a Toyota with a missing wheel or perhaps don't drive at all? If you get my meaning.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Oneechanbara: The Movie Teaser Trailer]]> But why do they always have to wear the least amount of clothes possible? Can movie makers in Japan get a point across in a movie without having to lure people in with half-naked women?

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on 8 Worst Foods In America]]> Fat and unhealthy people (aside from those who suffer from genetics) are that way because they don't give a flip about calories or healthy lifestyles. Why would a healthy person be eating at McDonald's to begin with? I don't know anyone with abs or the ability to run a triathlon (of which I know many) who even consider fast-food or frozen food as food at all.

Trying to eat healthy at McDonald's is like taking part in a gangbang while trying to stay a virgin.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on This Is Why Midway's CEO Is No Longer Midway's CEO]]> If Zucker actually tried then I feel sorry for him, and wish him well wherever he may land. If he didn't try, however, then he pretty much deserved the boot.

I think Midway would do well to bring back Body Harvest, Hydro Thunder, San Francisco Rush, and even War Gods with A++ quality and polish, I believe they could be at the top again. They were really great around the PSOne/N64 era and with some hard work I think they could be that good again.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on 20 More GTAIV Screens]]> I was never a fan of GTA once it went 3D, but I must say this newest incarnation has my attention. Well, at least it did when they announced a plethora of multiplayer modes/options.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Simple 2000: The Japanese Software Chart]]> As mediocre as they tend to be, I still wish we got more Gundam games stateside. I personally think they're a good time, albeit for a little while. Shame, really. The North American gaming diet could use more mech games.

<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @TKWarrior: "From comment one it was about you stating how your iPhone was better at running a NES emulator, of all things, then your 'superior' laptop."

Exactly. You argued that a PC was better for emulation and that I was "retarded" for even suggesting that my iPhone ran an emulator smoother than my PC. Lo and behold, you kept wavering off course and were more interested in insults, than acknowledging the fact that it was very possible the code for my iPhone ran smoother than the two emulators I had on my laptop. You keep insisting that I went off topic, when all I did was show you how an emulator on the iPhone ran smoother than one programmed for the PC.

Ironically enough I wasn't even going to respond to you but I wanted to see how far you would go. Your using an insult to respond to someone was what piqued my interest, I wanted to see if you'd continue. Sure enough you did, while ignoring the fact that I had stated (re: explained) my original argument over and over again. I.E. the iPhone code is far better programmed than the emulators I cared to try on my laptop.

Yes, I was stubborn, I wanted to see where you're insult initiative would lead. Guess it leads here. In a circle. Do you propose we continue or are we both satisfied? I will restate my argument: The code for my iPhone is far better programmed than the handful of PC emulators. I really hope repeating myself yet again wouldn't be necessary.

Though, if you want to continue, I have at least another forty-five minutes before I need to hit the gym. However, you'll have to promise better insults. Just to keep things interesting. In return, I'll retire the "kid" remarks. Ok, Angela? =)

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @TKWarrior: There you go, again, - assuming - that a person is going to download and test each and every single emulator until they 'perfect' one is found. Do you just want the last word? Are you trying to impress someone on Kotaku? This isn't even about the iPhone anymore. It's about you - assuming - things left and right, assuming all code is perfect on every emulator and that a person is going to try out and download every single one of them until the most perfectly coded emulator is found.

Kid, I give up on you. If you want the last word go for it. In fact, if you want, I'll email anyone you want and explain to them how superior you are online. Heh. I'm done with you, kid. Thirteen-year-olds, go figure.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @TKWarrior: "Um, actually yes, if it was programmed correctly and the hardware was at least on par with the original equipment."

Therein lies your problem. You're suggesting all code on all versions are perfect. When they're not. So no, not all coded versions will run perfectly. Next time you doubt that download an emulator that can't even sync the sound or speed of the original ROM. =)

Look, if you're going to insult me, kid, then at least be original. Retard insults are as tired as... well, your insults. C'mon, I'm sure there's better in your repertoire than calling someone retarded.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @TKWarrior: You can get Vista to run on a computer built from the Windows ME era. However, it will not run smoothly. If at all.

The NES is emulated on everything including toasters and radios. Does that mean all versions of the software run smoothly as the software did on native NES hardware?

No.

Quit insulting people over the internet, you supirior, manly macho internet man. =)

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @slomo788: I agree with you. Dumping a PSP and phone just for an iPhone would be stupid. However if your phone dies and your PSP is no longer used, then I would push for a smartphone (iPhone, BlackBerry or Sony P1). Again, I agree with you, tossing things that still work for you would just be a waste of money.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @TKWarrior: Are you serious?

Are you questioning the fact that one program could be be better coded on one platform over another regardless of hardware specifications? Heh heh. Good one. You made me laugh. I like that. Let's be friends!

Goodnight Kotaku! =D

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> @slomo788: Fair enough, but I would rather poke my eyes out before I rely on Skype for text and voice communication. My boss forced it on me at work and Lord help me, there is a special place in hell for Skype designers. In my opinion. The iPhone isn't a gaming device and wasn't meant to be either. So seeing the SNES and Genesis emulated along with the PSOne is very impressive. Especially in that my iPhone's NES emulator, for example, works far better than my laptop with a faster processor, more RAM and a GPU.

The iPhone isn't for everyone, but the critics are just hating for the sake of hating, at least it seems that way on Kotaku.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on genesis4iphone, Exactly What It Sounds Like]]> According to Kotaku commenters, the iPhone can't do any games at all, in any way, ever. This video is a hoax! The iPhone is evil and how dare anyone attempt gaming on it! It's not a RROD Xbox 360 or $600 PS3, how dare this infidel try to fool us into thinking our precious games can be put on a smartphone! It's mainstream! Mainstream can't be cool! Teen angst!

In all seriousness though, I think that's pretty cool. My computer is too heavy to lug around for my emulators. I would love to import my SNES, Genises and GBA games onto my phone. Here's hoping for an N64 emulator for smartphones.

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Analyst: iPhone Not A Viable Gaming Platform]]> And along come the critics who have never used a smartphone. I fix PCs for a living and I would be lost without a smartphone (be it iPhone, BlackBerry or Sony P1). Quite being afraid of new technology. Are we going to have to drag you critics into the future kicking and screaming? =D

If the iPhone/Smartphone critics ruled the world we would still be driving around Ford Pintos, flying on Boeing 727s and watching black and white TV on a MASSIVE 12 inch screen. =D

]]>
<![CDATA[Custom Reality commented on Yahtzee Goes Jurassic On Turok]]> One of the few times I can say I totally agree with Ben. He has the same gripes with the FPS genre I've had since the Xbox/PS2/GameCube generation. Especially the colors, where every FPS world insists "realism" is shades of gunmetal gray and dark brown.
