The premise is so pathetic, even a 9 year old with an insane imagination can hardly believe it. I know writers aren't exactly military strategists here, but do they at least do some research? It is inconceivable to think they can invade us.

Let's consider a few points shall we?

- Economy. They don't have any. More than half their people are starving to death, literally. People join the military to be fed. And the military had to change their minimum height requirement down so that they can maintain their army because they are too malnourished. I would go so far as to say the only reason everyone isn't wiping them off the map is because we're just waiting for the country to have a revolution and give it up already. Anyway my point is that a country that can't even afford to adequately feed it's people can NOT support an invasion of any country half way around the world. You know how much it cost us to invade Iraq or Afghanistan?

- Logistics. They don't have any. Stuck with weapons, military vehicles, and strategies from the 1950's, they don't stand a chance against any modern day force. They also have no real practice other than the Korean war which surprise, was fought over 50 years ago. And to take over one of the largest countries in the world? Are you high, no military can do that. One of the biggest reasons the US and the USSR never fought a land battle with each other is because it would have been a nightmare to do so.

- Support. They don't have any. Sometimes I get the argument that they have China on their side. Once again people thinking with a 50's mindset. It would be stupid for both China and the US to fight for many reasons, and neither have incentive to even start anything with each other. And as the Wikileaks leaks have proven, they are not willing to support NK if a war did break out. There's been a lot of talk that they have even been threatening to stop trade if NK keeps up their behavior.

I could go on, but I think it's pretty clear. The whole idea is stupid, just like Modern Warfare 2's storyline. I can accept certain ideas but when things are this stupid I can't enjoy myself.
I'll give it a watch.

That said, it seems like every trailer needs at least one "BWUAAAAM" in it in order to be appealing.
@jwin1404:
...the hell?

I said that's not what I wanted. Re-read it.

Graphics are nice, but it should come after good depth in gameplay and story.
I have a bad feeling about this.

The only way you take market lead is not by innovating, but by copying the guy who's in front of you and just do something ever so slightly better. That and dumb whatever is down to the lowest common denominator so that everyone can enjoy. I'm not saying that simple = worse game, but I do believe it can rob the experience. Granted while Bad Company 2 is all quite swell, we traded classes and strategic depth for explosions and pretty graphics. And everything from what I've seen so far about Crysis 2 is disappointing.
@canuckgamer:
With that logic then I can insist that there is a planet out there in the universe that is essentially a large chocolate frosted donut, because there is no evidence that disproves me.

And I for one would like to dream that there is a donut planet for me to discover...
@Paacman:
I'm going to have to agree with this sentiment.

If anyone believes that we are alone in the universe then they really do not comprehend how large it really is.
@scazzy:
Well yeah, as Nosada said, when you have much more RAM available, it's not really a surprise. Hell I wouldn't mind as much if they were more honest about it. But watching those videos, it's just so...obvious. I really don't want to come off as PC elitist but the consoles are definitely hindering the game this time. (And it doesn't always has to be the case, GTAIV didn't feel like it was being held back) It would have been nice if they did separate versions, like GRAW 2 tried.

I know GRAW 2 didn't succeed on PC but I appreciated the large differences between the Console and PC editions. I bought both and while they had their ups and downs, it was nice to see someone took the initiative to appeal to both platforms. Shame Ubisoft hasn't made a good decision since. More of a shame that no one will follow that example because their afraid of the failure, when really it was just sloppy execution.
@hazchem25:
I played Conviction with a friend a bit. Didn't like it at all. I convinced him to get Chaos Theory and we're going over the coop and having a very good time. All Conviction did was reinforce my belief that Chaos Theory was the best.

I know Double Agent wasn't THAT bad, but it still didn't seem as good is all. Chaos Theory was the peak and for me that's where I like to think the series ended.
That's funny. After watching videos of Crysis 2 it seems to me that consoles are holding back the size of the levels. Crysis 1 levels seemed much larger...
Silly Kotaku, you know you could have generated more view count by placing Jade Raymond's wonderful face as the main picture for the article. It makes me think you guys actually consider the story part and not the sell out part that ubisoft seems to encourage.

Also, to me, the series died after Chaos Theory.
@Shinkirou:
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I was watching this. In fact I was going to post it but I wanted to make sure no one else did. Great minds.
Definitely enjoying the inclusion of Awkward Zombie.
@Keyelite:
I miss those days. Modding needs to come back like it was then.
Pretty much anything for this game.

Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction, Galactic Conquest, Interstate 1982, Gundam, Siege, Who Dares Wins, Homefront, and Pirates.

Hell I know I played more than that but those are the best of what I can remember. Overall though, to me this game had the best mods.
*sigh*

Still goes under-appreciated.

Baby's first troll! It's adorable, he even caught one!

Our little troll is growing up so fast.
I died at the Shawshank Redemption reference. Always get me with that.
