There's no problem in stealing a game mechanic... the problem is when you steal the whole game. It's one thing to get the jumping and running mechanics from Mario and make a new game about a cat on a medieval setting getting fishes instead of coins, or something... it's a completely different thing to copy the mechanics and the aesthetics of a game like Zynga does a lot of times. Every good Doom and Mario "clones" out there added something to the formula and weren't just soulless copies.
But I wouldn't want a WW2 looking like that...
True, while stuff like Patapon and LocoRoco are great, Sony doesn't have any first-party handheld exclusive that are system sellers like Mario and Pokemon. What sold the PSP in Japan was Monster Hunter, and now the 3DS has it too... Sony needs a big first-party if they want the Vita to survive. They pulled of God of War and Uncharted for the PS2 and PS3, but Sony has the bad habit of leaving the portable versions to smaller teams, they need to do like Nintendo and threat their handheld games better. The team that worked on Super Mario 3D Land is the same that worked on Mario Galaxy, the DS Zelda's were made by the same guys working the Wii Zelda's. Sony needs to get Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, etc to work on Vita titles instead of some random studio.
IT'S A RESIDENT EVIL X HALF-LIFE CROSSOVER!!
I don't expect anything better here...
That's kinda sad :(
My favorite in the game... got it stuck in my head like no other game music this year.
But, the beetle was the only true new item, and it was very well used. The whip was already in Spirit Tracks and anyway it has the same use as the Grappling hook in The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass (though using it to get stuff behind bars was never done before and it's very clever). The gust blower was already in Minish Cap, and it could also suck air in that game, making it even more useful.
After having played pretty much every Zelda game out there, Skyward Sword was pretty predictable to me. Every dungeon I walked into, after 5 minutes I already knew what item I would get just by looking at the room. Also, every time I saw an unreachable area I knew that I would have to go there in the second part of the game. So, think about some new items or at least new ways to use the traditional ones, SS found a lot of new ways to use the sword, thanks to motion controls.
Anyway, I don't think think Gamestop would call it's clients telling them the game was canceled just because they're feeling like it, something happened there. Of course, it could be just some misinformation.
My bet is that the game was moved to PS4/Vita or is now a PSN only title.
